Yes, I realize that's pretty cynical of me.
2 of them have played shows for 25 years now. Squire toured for a decade after he split.

They'll be careful with the rehearsals and take them very seriously. Many tours hire outsiders(consultant) to whip a band into shape or simply give some pointers.

Name a recent "reunion tour"(especially a high profile one) where the band played awful at every show?

Per day, so a grand total of 12.1 million pounds, or 19.2 million USD.

Yea, I didn't even bother trying - figured it would be a clusterfuck. They've been clear that they are doing a world tour, so I'm trusting that whether or not they make it to the US eventually, I'll have a bunch of opportunities to see them next summer/fall.

I am curious to see how much the band gross from just the UK dates they do. T_in the Park, V Festival, three Manchester gigs.
I don't think $25m or more is far off.

No - nothing has been confirmed, but T, V and itunes are very likely.

and someone on the roses fan sites has claimed to have leaked the complete tour plans, but again this is not confirmed. As of now - there are no plans to come to the US.

225,000 tickets sold in an hour

Really hope they do hit the US, which based on just these two shows alone, should be a nice payday for the band. Their first album especially...HUGE influence on me musically.

I'm pretty sure the stone roses have less of a draw in the US than every britpop band put together. which is still negligible. you're fooling yourself if you think that's going to be a payday or even in the least bit alluring to the band.

Yeah, they'll probably play somewhere very small in comparison when they hit LA.
    7/30 - Shabazz Palaces - Roxy (?)

    8/01 - Ceremony/Nothing - Roxy (?)

I think you might be surprised. With them having such a short run, I think many fans got into them after they were together. Not saying they will sell out multiple big venues, but I'd bet they would do fairly well on a smaller tour here.

I still think the Stone Roses will not play Coachella 2012 because they announced their first shows will be in June and Coachella is in April. I thin they could play Coachella 2013. I would be happy with Pulp for Coachella 2012.

Possibly album wise. Reputation as a live act may be non-existent stateside.

Did anyone here even see one of the US shows? There's audience video of the Atlanta 1995 show with Squire on youtube.

I would be way fucking down to see them at Slane Castle. Or anywhere really. Bummed I didn't bother with Manchester, but seeing them in Europe would still be pretty cool.

Sold Out? Guess it'll be Viva Brother in Fresno then.

I get the "suck live" reputation (saw Ian Brown in LA for his "Golden Greats" tour and it was more like "Dark Shite"...there was an amp that went out and that seemed to make up the entire show), but their legendary Blackpool Empress Ballroom show captured on VHS was indeed "legendary" sounding and looking. Maybe it's like catching them on the right day of the week or something.

P.S. Paris date would be lovely. Maybe they're good on Mondays.

The "suck live" reputation is based on the fact that Ian singing in tune is a completely arbitrary thing (or was a completely arbitrary thing.) In my video-watching experience, the band itself brings it every night.

and that's why you bring the adoring crowd to drown him out.

As long as all there are no extended outtages I'm quite sure I'd be satisfied thoroughly.

P.S. Mani got alot of love and shoutouts from the audience at the Nokia LA Primal Scream/BJM show.
