I don't know what is more shocking - that the stone roses are reuniting, or that the sun was right.

The Sun does get it right sometimes. So yeah, the reunion is more shocking.

first stone roses gig in the uk will be packed, full of excitement, singalongs, and overall potentially fucking great (assuming the band has it together). that's a great comeback.

if they play coachella my feeling is they will have a very small reception. dedicated, but small. similar to the crowds for the verve or suede in recent years. that is anti-climactic after all these years of talk.

I loved being in that crowd.

The band will play a pair of dates at Manchester's Heaton Park on June 29 and 30 before embarking on a world tour. They also confirmed plans to record new material, their first since 'Ten Storey Love Song' B-sides 'Moses' and 'Ride On' in 1995.

Don't bother. Second Coming sucks. They'd have been a stronger band if their body of work was solely the first LP and the various singles.

I don't mind Second Coming. It just had so much to live up to after one of the best debuts ever. There is still some pretty fine guitar work on it (although it can get a bit overbearing at times).

With keeping today in mind, "I am the Resurrection" is probably my favorite. But hell, there's so many.

Yuck. The second album was pretty popular. Love Spreads was a fairly large hit when I was in college... it just doesn't hold up to their previous material.

Edited to add: Salah has been bombarded with Stone Roses tracks now.
