Thread: Post LCD blues....

    Default Post LCD blues....

Am only the one that's having a hard time gearing up for Coachella because I'm still in a haze after experiencing the final LCD Soundsystem show?

Having these two events merely two weeks apart from each other is almost too much to handle.

It was special beyond belief. I've seen LCD at least 6 times before, and at least half the songs last night were ones I've never heard live. Take the usual LCD live greatness, and add in a horn section, male choir and backup singers, and you'll start to get the idea.

I've seen the torrent of the Filter live streaming broadcast, about 1gb in size for a .wmv file if I remember correctly which probably puts it at around an hour.

Anyone watch the filter stream? Worth a download?

The copy of the webcast I got slowly loses sync between the audio and video over the whole concert until its a full second off by the end of the show. was that just how the webcast was or is there a better copy?

I seriously hate you for getting to see LCD's last show. I watched the stream. I'm still mourning the loss of my favorite band. I just gotta say, last year I had a religious experience during All My Friends.

That other thread (see my post above) has tons of pics, links, discussion of downloads, commentary from people there, etc. It really is worth a look. The people on this board are amazingly efficient at some things.

Here's a link to great quality 320K mp3's of the entire show sounding like board tape.

take comfort in the fact that the strokes show the night before was better.

That being said, LCD soundsystem will be missed. I think i've seen them like 10x though, so I'm ok with it.

Still wondering why that is a "last show." I mean, dude is the whole band in studio. He's going to keep writing and recording -- it's just going to be a different name.

I didn't even know who they were, or why I wasn't walking away once I drifted over to their stage that night. It was the random performance highlight of last year, for me. There's one every year =)

Just saw them in NYC at terminal 5 and MSG... they killed it both nights and I have to say I am sad that they are done forever... LCD blues also...

The show at MSG was quite possibly the greatest show I've seen (and I am an old guy who has been going to shows since 1984). It didn't hurt that we were in one of the boxes with free beer and food. The only place better would have been in the pit. All future concert experiences will be compared to this.

I, too, indeed have the post LCD blues after seeing their last show. The two highlights for me was the disco ball lighting up the entirety of Madison Square Garden when it hit the peak in US.vs THEM, and the entire place going nuts when he ended with New York I Love You.

Best show I've seen as well.

BUT. Coachella is definitely helping me get over it. holy shit. 5 fucking days.

I feel really fortunate to have seen them at last year's coachella, it would have been unreal to be at the msg show. Pretty sweet that Holy Ghost! was opening for them on that last tour, they should be at Coachella this year. I was kind of expecting to see them on the lineup.

Same here, I did Thursday at T5 and Saturday at MSG. Both shows were amazing, definitely sad to see them go but I'm thinking that now that I'm going to Coache11a last-minute I think that will cure any Post-LCD blues I've got.

I thought their Hollywood bowl show last oct with hotchip was good until I was in the pit at T5 and at MSG... Coachella will help but my live music fix just won't be the same without pogo sticking to dance yrself clean

god that show was incredible.. now it's really sinking in though that we'll never see them again

I wish I could thank them for making us all go out to NYC it was my first time and I fell in love with the place. I'll probably be moving there thanks to them
