Good to know. I'm looking forward to going to my first TI this year. Last year my buddy had to get married the same weekend in Florida. In Treasure Island Florida. It was a constant reminder. Doh!

I could see the Strokes and Chem Brothers as likely, but I like the Underworld suggestion better.

This may be the first year I miss due to a race that Sunday I want to do. Here''s to hoping the line up Saturday is geared towards the High Schoolers and Sunday's line up is weak.

It's kind of weird knowing that I probably brushed the booty hole of several board members at TI last year. It's such a tiny fest, I fucking loved it, and Guedita my gf and I were dancing idiots during K and D as well. That fest confirmed for me that I simply will not ever like Antwoord though.

if chems play that would be an epic win. it may even make guedita feel young again.

    Let's be friends.

Oh, and you guys know that I will be back at TI this year unless the lineup is really awful. Except I am considering bringing an old lady cane to hit the teenagers with/make a larger dance space for myself.

And I don't want to be a paranoid alarmist but I feel oddly certain that Skrillex will be there.

You're in luck, since their inevitable vanishing act from popularity/public consciousness should be starting any time now.

I haven't been since the first year and I'd like to go to this Festival again, but it would take more than the Chemical Brothers to get me there.

A repeat of Day 1, 2008 would suffice, but that's not likely.

    what?
Clearly I REALLY like K&D, but I agree about their "vocalists". Less is more is in this instance for sure. I think Brandon (maybe Erik/Menik) was the one that commented on how bad the I Wanna Be Your Dog cover was. Awful. They played 2 or 3 newer tunes (that one included) that were just not good at all.

B&S is my favorite active band still. I had been waiting to see them for several years, but I was in Italy during TI 2010 (they were still in Italy while I was in Cali). I planned my trip to London around when they'd be in Leicester, but they canceled at last minute due to Stuart's health. I hope that they will tour America again before they break up. Otherwise, I am convinced that God just does not want me to ever see B&S live.

That being said, Strokes would be great to have there, but they might be too big? I would almost say Black Keys would be more of a possibility...they're on all the other festival bills.

Anyone playing at Iceland Airwaves won't be playing at TI. So Beach House essentially (Damnit).

And what's this about Animal Collective for sure not playing TI?

It has been spoken, so they're not playing.

Yea, that was crazy, however at times I had no idea what was going on. It was like you had to be right in front of wherever the band was to see what was happening.
We're here to play some Mississippi Delta Blues. We're in a horrible depression, and I gotta admit - we're starting to like it.

The Black Keys won't headline Treasure Island, they're already playing Outside Lands. Generally not any crossovers between the two.

Chemical Brothers and The Strokes have sounded right to me for months now.

Same here, walking up to that set several minutes late left me with no idea what the hell was going on. I only saw a small mass of people at the stage going crazy and I could hear some indecipherable punk music playing. I was completely confused for several minutes.

It might've been more fun to watch from the ferris wheel.

I think it's the fact that you can bring in food that really does it for me, that and the only example of efficient festival shuttling I have ever seen.
