He drives a BMW and people still think he can "keep it real"? How is that supposed to work?
I didn't know he had a Cadillac too, and I'm not particularly pleased to hear that, either. But then nothing can shock me any more after he's agreed to do this reunion. Just as Sighlent's pointed out, I can't help but feel that this isn't about what they used to stand for back in the 1990s, when they were true to themselves. This reunion seems to be about something entirely different, and I don't like it. It bothers me to no end but I refuse to close my eyes and pretend it's amazing that they are back - to me, it's not. It's the end. Why are they playing? Or, forget about the rest of the band: I want to know why Zack decided to play. And I don't even want to think about what could be next, maybe a "Greatest Hits" CD and a "RATM Live at Coachella" DVD in time for Christmas?
God, I'm disappointed beyond words.
PS. For those of you who still think that he is not that interested in the money he makes, I just wanted to add that, quite apart from the BMW he drives, he lives (or at least used to live) in Los Feliz, one of the most exclusive neighbourhoods in L.A.
And Sighlent: where did you hear about the $1.5M? Is it confirmed?
When Anthony Pheotus is singing "Heyyyy Oooooh" and everyone is singing along to it I'll be wishing it was Sunday already. Bring on the RAGE !!!
In the 90's I could not be fooled but now......my eyes are open. How dare someone motivate the masses and profit at the same time IM BOUTS TO RAGE111!!!!!
WTF is all this bout u being scared of rage fans?? be grateful that u live near enuf to go and see the greatest band who ever lived - i live in london and love rage, in fact one of my aims in life is to see em live and all u pussies dnt wanna go cos ur scared!? if the festival wasnt an 11 hour flight away id b ther moshing my face off. so be grateful for at least having the opportunity and stop criticising 'em.
chav.
yes!!! this is just what coachella needs....agression! yeah we coulda had some acts that push to edge of music enlightenment, the stuff that makes strangers
ingage in approving glances, but no lets get Rage Againt The Machine so that
fans will riot and people get hurt or worse, laws will be broken and Coachella could possibly have their Wookstock99 or Altamont69!
but I digress, it will be intersting to hear the perspective from fans of artists like Willie Nelson, Manu Chao, Placebo, Paul vanDyk and others.
u wanna come see how we do tings in london tooown??
Ill bring my burberry gloves so we can have a go at it.
mate im a rage fan not a chav
you want to make out then?

do u think thers a chance of a tour after the show if it all goes well? cos mayb Zack approached the band to try and restart things fo'real after his quiet solo career. it would b SIIIICK if they came n played glasto or reading
there's little that could compete with the excitement of a ratm reunion. their set is gonna be insane; i'm so stoked!
-m0nique

wow. you got all of that from seeing their name at the top of a Coachella poster? Damn kid. You should be like a detective or a fucking fortune teller or something. Youre like the next Ms. Cleo or something. Just please be the most EXTREME!!! fortune teller there is...like, read fortunes on the back of a quad while hitting some sweet jumps in the desert or something.

I don't know why rage fans continually overstate this bands significance. They have juvenile cliche teenage angst lyrics and parade as some centerpoint of an anti-capitalist political movement, while collecting the 7 figure royalty checks and mansions as quick as they can get their hands on them. For all you people who say they can do more damage "in the system"... first off your wrong, and Ian McKaye proved it with Minor Threat and then Fugazi, but secondly... say that were true. That they would need to be on a major label to make any real difference - which they failed at clearly - then why do you need the fancy cars and mansions? Do they need those products of capitalism to make a difference? Aren't THEY, specifically, zack then exactly the people they're bitching about? Yeah... I think they are.
The bottom line is RATM is an entertaining rock/rap group that will put on a pretty good show... but they are a FAR cry from some politically enlightened band that "made a difference". They're an agression, teenage angst band that makes politically clueless people feel like they're "fighting the system".
someones jealous.
AAAAAHAHAHAHAHAH...I would love to see Noam Chomsky on the Cow Bell!!!!! We'll get Fidel to play the Guiro too!
I'm jealous? Hardly. I just have an IQ over 100 and know a thing or two about politics/political movements and can see that RATM, while entertaining, is nothing more than a commercial rock/rap act. It's a pitty most of their fans can't.... which really is proof their music doesn't bring political enlightment otherwise their fans would see through their hype.
extremely jealous
