Default Anyone else get extra wristbands in the mail?

I know of at least 4 people that have gotten wristbands as follows.

1 single wristband in a box, and 3 additional wristbands in a second package.

2 wristbands in a box when they ordered 1

3 wristbands in a box when they ordered 1

1 wristband in a box, 2 in a second box when they ordered 2.

They've sold the extra wristbands except for one of them who's still got all 4. I advised them against selling them, in case they're not active. Or they sell the active one and then have to deal with proving they paid for theirs legit.

Has anyone else gotten extra bands? Has there been any word on if they will be deactivating the ones sent by mistake?

If you got extra's, you got someone else's order by mistake, and its best you contact coachella@intellitix.com because there is very high chance they have been deactivated when the person who was supposed to get that package called.

    Better safe than sorry.

This is what I've been telling them, but they went and sold them anyway. The one guy held on to them all but hasn't contacted anyone.

But what a cluster this has been. People can't get their bands delivered at all, and some get way more than they asked for.

    Sheesh.

How does he know which wristband was his and which was the extra? He might be holding on to the one that gets deactivated and has sold the legit one (one can hope).

    Yep. That's what I've said.

And I agree, I only got one wristband in the mail, but I'm still bringing my receipt with me.

A friend of mine received an extra wristband and decided against selling it because of the fact that they can be deactivated at any time. You don't want to be the asshole that sold someone a deactivated wristband nor do you want to be the asshole trying to get in with a deactivated wristband.

On that same note, oughtn't people who got their wristbands secondhand be calling them in, to be sure? You don't get a receipt if you got yours from ebay.

shit, this seemed like such a good idea, i went straight to my e-mail to print out my last copy of the receipt. unfortunately, the only copy i seem to have is the first copy w/o all the payments made.

i wonder how i could possibly get a copy of my receipt e-mailed to me again...

It's going to be interesting (funny) when these people that bought the wristbands their freinds didn't receive get turned away at the gate and have no way to prove they made a legit purchase.

As I already said - if you get two by accident, how do you know which one is yours and which will be deactivated? Will he just wear both to be safe?

This is scary. I have some friends who bought passes off of craigslist. What will happen to them if they bought deactivated wristbands?? Are they completely screwed?

no, if your wristband is deactivated, you wont get in. Read your packaging. This info is on there.

Well, there's certainly no incentive for someone selling a wristband to have them deactivated. This should really only be a concern if there are (1) random deactivations happen all over the place or (2) people are selling these "extra" or "stolen" wristbands on resale sites and the original owners are deactivating them.

So what about some unscrupulous people just selling their 6 wristbands.....then calling to have them deactivated and getting in to the festival anyway with replacements?

    That's a recipe for lameness.

At least I got mine on Ebay, so I can have some protection....but what about all the others?

It's going to be a sight to see if someone that actually bought a wristband through TM/FG gets denied at the gate because some asshat at bandmerch deactivated the wrong wristband.

If that happens, the person SHOULD get in with receipt, ID and credit card used to make the purchase. But I don't work for GV and can't tell you if that's going tobe an option or not.

There will obviously be a trouble shooting area to be able to check the wristband system, etc.
