Pure Filth Bass Oasis Stage Lineup @ Coachella 2011

Posted by Sam XL on Apr 4th, 2011 in Events | 0 comments

The Pure Filth Bass Oasis Dome returns to the Coachella Music Festival this year with a heavyweight lineup to match the sound system’s unparalleled reputation as one of the best in the world.
Located right after the entrance to the festival grounds, the Pure Filth Bass Oasis will be one of the first on-the-ground impressions of Coachella 2011, although the massive reverberations of bass can be heard from over two miles away (not to mention felt on a cellular level).
Enhanced surround sound, visuals, lasers, lighting and production will illuminate the dome, a dramatic and beloved desert icon that celebrates the unique artistic cultures of California and the West Coast. The Pure Filth Bass Oasis dome will also feature upgraded exterior art panels while keeping most of the space open for maximum visibility.
The confirmed lineup for the 2011 Pure Filth Bass Oasis is (in no particular order):
    • Jakes
    • Breakage
    • OFWGKTA
    • DJ Marky
    • 12th Planet
    • Beardyman
    • Andy C. & GQ
    • High Contrast
    • Kode 9
    • Ramadanman
    • DJ Kentaro
    • Mount Kimbie
    • Mary Anne Hobbs
    • Joy Orbison
    • Ras G
    • DJ Hype
    • SBTRKT
    • The Professionals
    • Roska
    • Lorn
    • Take
    • Goth Trad
    • Kyle Hall
    • Tokimonsta
    • DJ Zinc
    • Lil B
    • Don Letts
    • Terror Danjah
    • Alf Alpha
    • Thunderball
More artists will be announced in the coming weeks, and keep your ears wide open for some VERY special surprise guests as well.
Pure Filth is known for bringing up-and-coming electronic and hip hop talent into the spotlight on a sound system that is nothing less than legendary in the Los Angeles underground music community.
“…one of the best systems actually built & fine tuned for beats, bass, dubstep & dance music.” ~ The Gaslamp Killer
Coachella Music Festival takes place at Empire Polo Field in Indio Valley, CA from March 15-17, 2011. Due to local concerns, unfortunately there will be no Pure Filth after-hours stage in the campgrounds at the festival this year.
Stay tuned here for more lineup announcements!

The fact that it's A) by the entrance and B) not a stage is a big bummer.

Both of these bits of news are a bummer and kind of a surprise after what we had been told. I still want to see High Contrast, Mount Kimbie, SBTRKT, Kode 9, Breakage, Joy Orbison and Goth Trad so bad I don't care. The one plus side is I bet it will be a lot easier to meet the artists we want to.

"local concern" to me reads as if it was something imposed by the city not coachella itself, so that would mean that coachella is not allowed after-hours, which would mean no one is doing anything. If coachella had just scheduled someone else why would they say "local concern"?

they probably mean they are not doing anything in the dome for afterhours like last year, when it was opened to everyone not just campers. This year will probably be restricted to campers again and within the camp grounds not that "lobby" area where the dome is placed. They probably did not like the non-campers stumbling and driving home past 3am

Anyone who wanted to come to the campground after-parties last yearcould. You didn't ahve to be a camper. Therefore, non-campers still would be stumbling home.

If this was so, how would they keep people who aren't camping from coming? The years that they did that they had a special wristband for campers so only campers could be allowed, but since there is no way to distinguish a camper from a regular attendee this year i doubt that is what is happening.
If this is true i would be very happy, but i seriously doubt it given what they are saying. In years past they also just stated that after-hours is for campers only, not the case this year.

You were saying that this year they would probably restrict it to the campers and just have it in the campground, when really non-campers can just get to the campground too. It doesn't matter if its in the lobby area or not. If theres an afterhours party, non-campers and campers alike would go regardless of the location. They didn't seem to be able to restrict it last year. Non-campers can still get onto the campgrounds.

unless the campgrounds are closed off again, which we do not know yet. i believe every year i have gone since '07 the campgrounds were closed off to the public...last year was the first time it was all open, and so the city probably did not like it and the festival will go back to the old format. im just trying to reason it out that there is the possibility of an after hours anything...you guys won't flame me for that will ya?
