Acceptable ID's For Entering Campgrounds

Hey, I've found myself in a bit of a jam. I'm 19 and it's my first time camping at coachella and I'm camping with my group; and I'm wondering what kinds of ID are acceptable for entry into the campgrounds.

See I've never gotten a state ID or drivers license (lazy, I know), and my passport is my main form of ID. Going to coachella, especially camping, I really don't want to bring my passport with me with the risk of it getting lost (oh past coachellas...).

Will security except a notarized scan of my Passport made at a notary store? Or something else (college ID without birthday etc, etc) they will accept as a valid ID to prove I'm over 18?

If it helps, I have facial hair and look like I'm over 18.

Unfortunately I tried thinking of getting a state ID card last month and asked the DMV how long they would take to get (60 days), so that's out of the question.

I really don't want to risk losing my passport as everything I'll have will be in our tent (no locks), and I'm prone to losing things.

There's nothing more official than a passport. It's BETTER than a state ID. You won't have any issues.

No college ID's are not government issued and typically aren't accepted as a form of ID. But it's not like you are trying to drink.

the only people that were carded for campground entry last year were people with beer if minors or people that looked underage were in the car.. Californias waiting list to get an ID is over 3 months, so bring ur passport.

actually it only took 4 weeks to get my California ID... but in all fairness the guy did tell me it would take 3 months... but seeing as coachella is only 4 days away i guess this bit of info is useless.... so umm bring your damn passport

You should go ahead and risk driving all the way to Coachella with a questionable form of ID instead of the Government issued ID that you are afraid of losing.
