DFA 1979 and.........................Not one but two bands are playing FYF that share this zip code- M6K 1L4. Can you guess?
Fucked Up?
edit: nah
BSS?Hint #2: Neither of the bands from the M6K 1L4 zip code have played FYF... So I guess that means obvious guess isn't going to be there
*based upon tedious fact checking.
Broken Social Scene; that would fit the "begins with B and ends with E" post mentioned yesterday.

I'm starting to think the Weeknd predictions are right. I have a hard time believing Broken Social Scene will be there.
Then again, I had a hard time believing Panda Bear would be there last year (or The Mountain Goats for that matter) so. . .
It's probably Broken Social Scene as there was a hint earlier that said the headliners began with a "b" and an "e" (but I think they really meant to say ends with an "e".)
Also, Weekend (not the The Weeknd) is likely to pay as they're a shoegaze/pschedelic noise group out of the Bay area that FYF has promoted before.

Yeah, I appreciate what I think was some sort of defense, but I really have no idea what the fuck you're talking about.
People are talking about The Weeknd AND Weekend playing, seperately. But since The Weeknd is from Toronto and the recent clue said there's 2 bands from Toronto I figured it might be possible, simply because I'm not really sure I believe they go Broken Social Scene for whatever reason.
I'm probably wrong though.
I wasn't trying to diss your speculation or anything but was just trying to say if any of the Weekend-named bands played, it would likely be the noise-gaze one with closer proximity and a standing relationship with FYF.
Yeah, I tried not to read too much into that B and E hint either. I'm still expecting the top line of the poster to say DFA1979, Descendents and Explosions in the Sky.
zomg, they wanna tease us more!
Only a few more days till the announcement but we will continue to tease you with hints... Remember Shellac shows on sale today
They should just hold off at this point. It's the weekend, people* won't be paying attention and then Monday or Tuesday we can be mostly surprised. Any idea how soon the early bird tickets sell out (if at all), suprefan?
Edit: *people who are not music nerds attached to the Internet
I don't think Explosions will play either, and I'm not sure why everyone is talking about them.
To be definitive, it'd be rad if The Weeknd OR Weekend played. They both rule. But my comment come from the idea that while The Weeknd playing is relatively improbable, the Toronto zip code hint gave me hope. So really, Weekend has nothing to do with this at all.
The Explosions In the Sky speculation only comes from the fact that they have two CA dates (one in San Diego and one in Big Sur) with the FYF Fest sandwiched right between the two.
See above.....
Edit: if you need more proof to rethink your thought process. So answer the question, if a band announced an entire fall tour, why have a gap of 3 days at a certain point?
09/01 - Tucson, AZ @ Rialto Theatre
09/02 – San Diego, CA @ SOMA
09/05 – Big Sur, CA @ Henry Miller Library
You mean the cheaper price tickets, if they have any? 2 years ago they had em for $8, and that lasted no time at all. I dont even think they had them at a lower price last year.
obviously that is 100% definitive proof
5/11/12 - Cloud Cult - El Rey // 5/23/13 & 5/24/13 - Boris - Echoplex // 6/7/13 + 6/8/13 - Jubilee Music Festival

EITS playing might make me come back to this.
Oh, I didn't even realize EITS had tour dates so close to the fest. Well then, I see that happening.
Last year early bird tickets were 20 dollars as opposed to 25 and they sold out in I think maybe a week or two.
