They didn't cover Arcade Fire songs. Guedita was poking fun at you.

Did not enjoy: The shitty, incompetent sound guys; dust everywhere (still!); lack of places to sit that weren't dirt mounds

I got pretty sick (claustrophobia settled in) around 7pm and almost threw up everywhere. I didn't want a repeat of MBV at the SMC, so I had to sit down for pretty much the rest of the night.

Our good friend played with Girls and we had no fucking idea he was even in the band; we felt like bad friends but to our credit, he just up and left LA with no notice a few months ago. (I guess to start playing with Girls...)

I saw a few of you in the distance, but I wasn't in the mood fr awkward conversations that day. I avoided pretty much every person I knew that I saw.

So you avoided the entire crowd that was in attendance....

edit: actually dont answer that. not sure why i just got sucked into this again. The band fucking sucks.
Nah, I still feel like correcting you. You're wrong. Heather McIntosh (the cello player at FYF) played with OTC as early as 1999. See http://www.heathermcintosh.com/?page_id=7/

And she recorded with Circulatory System, Will Cullen Hart's project, in 2003.

I burned Ty Segall's Goodbye Bread and Melted onto one disc yesterday and listened to it on shuffle while driving. I had heard both albums before, but not really in depth, and after Finger came on and it brought back how fucking awesome that song was at FYF at this point I'm convinced it's his best song.
8/21 - The Zombies - Santa Monica Pier
    8/22 - Slint - El Rey (?)
    8/23-24 - FYF Fest - Exposition Park
    8/28 - Ty Segall - Echo
    8/31 - Sleep - Troubadour (?)

I've been listening to Melted nonstop. I dunno, I think Girlfriend is better.

I just got the split that he did with Black Time. Good solid stuff. It's interesting how much he's grown as a songwriter.

I'm still partial to his Daytrotter session. It really captures the live sound that I think works a lot better for him, at least to me.

I dunno, that FYF set was spectacular. Exactly the way I wanted him to be live.

That's what I mean. I almost like the sound of his songs live better than what's on the album.

Ahh, i thought you meant you prefered the live sound on that recording. Gotcha.

Agreed with that. I went back to Melted and Imaginary Person sounds so tame compared to the live version he played.

That's pretty true about most of the songs. He just has so much god damn energy.

Live at Aisle 5 is another great example. I'm just going through it for the first time.

Live at Aisle 5 is awesome... I wish he played Sad Fuzz. Both times I saw him, no Sad Fuzz.
