He's an amazing vocalist, his lyrics are top-notch. An absolutely perfect mix of emotion, irony, and humor, and his music is constantly evolving and simply beautiful. But it sounds like your already set in your opinion, soo....

I don't knock the fact that he can sing...he could definitely make the top 10 on American Idol. It's just wussy boy music, isn't it?

I like Morrissey because his music spoke to me when I was an extremely shy, self-loathing, lonely teenager. He also has a great voice and great wit, and he put so many crazy allusions in his lyrics to literature and to local places/people/ideas in England. I would always be guessing what the heck he was singing about. "What does Hulmerist mean?" (the title of his old video). It's a play on words because he grew up in Hulme (pronounced "Hume," get it?), a suburb of Manchester. "What is the song 'Suffer Little Children' about?" It's about this pair of serial killers in 1970's England who only killed children and left their bodies on the moors. Also, you can tell how much he ADORES Oscar Wilde from that song "Cemetry Gates" [sic]. It goes on and on and on.
