Did you get to Proud Americans yet? Oh man that book is fucked up.

I just finished the entire Battle Royale (English adaptation) manga and it was fucking incredible. Amazing character depth.

Booster Gold #44 Flashpoint Event Tie-In
Skaar: King of the Savage Land #3 / 5

I will report back on Booster Gold as I haven't read it but it's technically the 2nd piece released regarding the Flashpoint event from DC.

I had a $20 off thing at Midtown Comics, and since I am leaving Manhattan in about a week, I didn't want to let it go to waste. I've always wanted to get into the Green Lantern, but didn't want to jump in at some random point, so I have finally begun the journey with the The Green Lantern Archives - Volume 1 (not the Golden Age version). So far, it is absolutely fantastic.

Unfortunately, the movie looks like it's going to be a piece of shit.

Have you guys seen the new Green lantern trailer?

This movie now has me beyond excited! I'm really surprised and very happy how both Thor and now seemingly this are just packed to the gills with as much crazy stuff from the comics as possible.

Well now I actually have some hope for that movie. Looked really shitty upon first couple of glances.

Also, unrelated but I recently bought Blade vs. Santa Clause

The amount of detail that's obviously gone into creating 3D versions of what appears to be the entire Green Lantern Corps is pretty amazing...the entire mythos is very intact and the spririt is all there! The designs are very faithful too.

i'm sure the character of Hal Jordon is going to be FUBAR but every time they get into outer space I'm sure it's going to be great.

I'm very stoked about this whole summer of giant nerdy blockbusters though...
    x-men
    captain america
    green lantern
    kung fu panda 2
    super 8
    cowboys vs aliens
    harry potter 7 pt 2
    Transformers 3

i felt like I hardly had any huge summer movies last year

I'm still not expecting much from Green Lantern, but maybe I will be surprised. I like what I have seen on the X-Men trailers. Not so much on the Captain America ones...then again, I never was a fan of that character at all.

Look who's back in the JLA, motherfuckers:

Aquaman's already going to be getting his own title in the fall (and will have his own Flashpoint alt-universe miniseries Emperor Aquaman released next Wednesday), but this JLA news has maybe been the most exciting news for Aquaman fans in a long time.

Finished the Ex Machina series yesterday. I thought it was good until the last 4 or 5 issues or so. It really fell flat at the end for me, but I don't really read many comics so perhaps it's just me.

Oh... shit. This is going to be awesome. Preview of the Aquaman #1 cover due in the fall. So badass.

You can see Ivan Reis, Rod Reis and Joe Prado's signatures bottom right. I really hope the piranhas or whatever they are don't take his hand...

Your aqua boner is a real thing isn't it. Today I downloaded all of Sandman, Preacher, Dark Knight Returns and Dark Knight Strikes again. We'll see if any of them stick.

I have nearly every Aquaman solo issue ever printed in addition to most of the ones he's primarily featured in. My Aquaman toy collection is getting up there, too. It's a big year for Aquaman fans so I've got more of a boner than I usually do about it. We've gone almost 5 years without a solo title book and it's back again in the fall (plus a 1970s collected serial of Jim Aparo's AQ work out next month and a miniseries title out next week).

Also coming out from this massive DC reboot in the fall (aside from JLA #1 and AQ#1):
    - Wonder Woman #1
    - The Flash #1
    - The Fury of Firestorm #1
    - The Savage Hawkman #1
    - Green Arrow #1
    - Mister Terrific #1
    - Captain Atom #1
    - DC Universe Presents #1 (this series will focus on heroes likely not getting their own title right now), it will focus on Deadman in the first few issues.

Late to the thread here, so I'm just gonna comment on all the old shit for a minute. I'm hella impressed with the names/books people have been dropping, cuz most people who read comics don't know shit about the good/indy stuff.

That's not necessarily true: high end comic collecting is hella huge right now. A copy of Amazing Fantasy #15 just sold for $1.5 million- that's crazy for a Silver Age book!
The only books that are worth anything are the ones that came out mid-70's or early, because before then, people weren't actually trying to collect books and most of the good ones were thrown out.

Holy SHIT! My prize piece is New Mutants #98, which doesn't hold a candle to the first Wolverine...

Invincible is one of the, if not THE, best super hero comics of all time. You shouldn't have stopped- the current issues have been some of the best so far!

I like this series a lot, super creepy. The only problem is that each issue keeps bringing up more questions than answers. I really want some answers already.

Seriously, the best done storyline of all time. Incredible and emotional. Superman is a hard character to pull off, and Morrison and Quietly did it amazingly.

Longshot is currently a member of X-Factor (the X-Men's detective agency). If anyone is a fan of the character, they should definitely pick up this title. Peter David is one hell of a writer.

His oil paintings, acrylics, and water-colorings are also something to check out.

Hella miss those!! That was the first card set that I ever collected to completion. I remember loving the Erik Larsen cards in there the best. He does a wicked Spider-Man, Venom, and Carnage. The year after was awesome because of the Joe Maduriea cards.

I think it was stupid move, personally. Too confusing. Even though it kinda makes sense cuz Banshees are female spirts, so why is a dude named Banshee?

So I'm halfway through Amercan Gods and am now interested in checking out Sandman. Is it one story arc or are there essential volumes I could pare it down to? Is this even a good use of my time? Please note I have no interest in finding out if these questions have already been answered.

Definitely worth your time. I believe everything is available in trades now. Honestly, read them all. Start at the beginning with Preludes and Nocturnes.
