I live right by those and pass them all the time, I would love to party in them! Thos hangars are HUGE! I always joke around with my wife and say that's where the government does all their weird experiments on humans.

I'm hoping for a second festival that takes away some of the demand for Coachella. Some people will go to both, obviously, but some will just choose one. If the Great Park can have a six figure attendance, they can make more money and book more large-name artists. This would create a larger demand for the Great Park festival and tickets would probably be more expensive. The OC rich kids can VIP all over their park and not "slum it down" camping at Coachella. I can't tell you how many OC kids I've heard refuse to camp because they'd be dirty.

Edit: This would also eliminate the "I want to go, but I only know 5 acts and I don't want to research any of the names I don't know" people from Coachella. They could all go to the Great Park with it's more mainstream acts.

While they could move Coachella, if they plan on having 1-5 events there a year... I still think they would do Coachella at the polo fields, then roughly 6 months later, maybe even around a 3 day weekend September , BOOM throw another massive music festival.

BREAKING: GOLDENVOICE NEAR DEAL FOR FEST
AEG Live subsidiary Goldenvoice, known for the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival and Stagecoach country music fest, is putting the final touches to a deal that will bring a multiday festival to the Great Park in Irvine, Calif.

Goldenvoice CEO Paul Tollett told Pollstar the Orange County Great Park directors gave Goldenvoice a “vote of confidence” March 17, but nobody has signed on the dotted line just yet. It’s a little early in the game. If Goldenvoice is looking at a festival like Coachella, or something completely different, it's hard to say. According to Tollett, Goldenvoice will begin the creative process in the weeks and months to come.
“I can see the park from my house,” Tollett said. “I’m pretty excited. No. I am excited.”
Goldenvoice will pay the Great Park a flat fee of $750,000 per year as well as $3 per person for paid attendance between 150,000 and 299,000 per year, according to the Orange County Register. The payment climbs to $5 per head for attendance between 300,000 and 500,000. Goldenvoice has agreed to produce one to five events per year and contribute to improvements to the park.
Live Nation and C3 were among the companies also bidding for the contract.

You guys swear like there aren't "LA kids" that say the same shit. Enough with the OC bashing already. There are just as many assholes in OC as there are in LA. Also keep in mind there is a huge difference between southcounty and northern Orange county.
