LiveMusicVideo Theatre Company will present BjorkBall, The Unofficial Biophilia CD Release Party: a Bjork-inspired multimedia retrospective celebration and dance party, at 285 KENT in Williamsburg, BK on Thursday, September 29th, 2011 at 7:00PM.
BjorkBall is a one-night-only event completely inspired by the life and work of Björk, and triggered especially by the jaw-dropping multimedia presentation of the upcoming release of Biophilia, her newest musical project and forthcoming full-length studio album. BjorkBall is a PARTY you won't want to miss; a costume ball; a DJ dance hall; a multimedia performance art retrospective of Björk's work featuring live performances that pop up throughout the evening, created specifically to represent one song from each of Björk's former albums and culminating in a large fashion installation inspired by the newest, Biophilia. Amidst Björk-inspired, interactive installations, DJs spinning sick remixes, and a party atmosphere where people are encouraged to come dressed as their favorite Björk incarnation, the larger pop-up performances will span the mediums of dance, video, projection, fashion, song, and more - a stimulating collision of the visual and the aural combining to make a massive, celebratory night in honor of music, dance, art, life, and... well, Björk!
Contributing artists include SOTU Productions, Natalie Johns (former Bjorkestra front-woman), Bluecrash Event Director, TAJ Dance, DJ Narcisse, Built4Collapse Theatre Company, and many more.
LiveMusicVideo (Stephen F. Arnoczy and Liz Alderfer) seeks to create a tangential music experience through the deconstruction and re-imagining of the art form of the music video. BjorkBall will be the inaugural evening-length event presented by LiveMusicVideo, founded in 2010.
BjorkBall will begin at 7:00PM. Tickets, priced at $10, are available for advanced purchase at http://bjorkball.eventbrite.com/ or at the door on the evening of the event.
My most anticipated release of 2011......10/11
i would like to explain why my album is coming out later than was first intended
after humongous and fun adventurous work with the app builders we handed in the music for the app box last may i felt sonically it fitted that underworld of apps and virtual reality like a glove , kinda acoustic and clean with a slick dark sub but somehow the cd needed more blood and muscles , oxygen and stuff
i felt the album had different kinda growth potential than the app box and it is important to follow those hunches even though they are slippery and you don’t know sometimes where they are taking you
i played biophilia for few weeks in manchester and some of the songs grew while playing them live and i decided to add some of this into the album , i ended up even using a live recording of one of the songs on the album . take my hunch the whole distance but in order to do that i had to put the album back a bit
my friend , the incredibly talented music maker leila arab came to iceland with no notice and added some sonic sculpting , especially to the bottom end and the great talented mastering engineer mandy parnell came over as well and helped me give the whole thing more warmth and flesh somehow
i am really happy i did this , seems like biophilia the album has a body
leila also introduced me to “current value” who now has put a new beat into one of the songs
hope you like it
warmth , bjork
Excited to hear current value's contribution to the record.
I really dislike the changes to the end of Crystalline.
Yeah, I wouldn't fly to New York for this. Another album to throw into the 2011 disappointment pile.
Surprised me when the ending kicked in. It doesn't bother me too much, but it's totally unnecessary.
i just heard the new version. the ending sounds awful in comparison to the single version.
replaced album track with single version in my playlist = problem solved
Also I made a notational version for Frazzles
Lakers in 6

Damn, this album is disappointing. At least on first listen. I expected a bigger sound and a soundtrack for hunting in enchanted forests or something. I like Sugarcubes through Homogenic Bjork the best.
I'm surprised by the lack of discussion on this album. This is a former Coachella headliner. I hope to give it a listen this weekend
I just don't really have anything to say. It's just, there.
The song Hollow is fucking mess. It sounds like children just pounding their hands on pipe organ.
Buncha crack-cocaine enthusiasts in here.
Is this streaming anywhere?
I really like this album but I agree about Hollow. It feels like it's missing something like direction. It has the opportunity to be really great but man it fell apart. Maybe it transfers better live without all the nuts and bolts
Wow....I'm just getting around to listening to this and I must say I like this a lot more then Volta. Hollow is bjork getting in touch with her medulla side and I love all of this, so far. In fact, this seems like a proper follow up to medulla this anything else.
Yeah, I don't like the album version either. The changes are subtle, but I've gotten so used to the single/video version, the album one sounds weird.
I went ahead and bought the MP3 from Amazon for the single version.

I've only listened to Crystalline, Cosmogony and Moon. Liking it so far, hope there's a few more pleasant surprises on the album.
