Cannot watch....shiver me timbers! I'm not surprised this gives you wood, Andrew. Haha.
I'm not expecting much Post stuff from her at this point. If the new stuff is better than the Volta jams, I'll be thrilled.
She barely plays anything from Post anymore. I forget what year she played the bowl but there weren't many Post tracks then either.
If I complain once more do I get an Army of Me?

That setlist has no songs I would want to hear Bjork play. I can't speak about the new songs, but as far as the old songs are concerned that's pretty weak.
RAPE STOVE
white power?!
Well, this is Bjork, so she changes her setlist early and often.
Anyhow, LOOOK:
Björk Reveals Full Scope of Biophilia
Album, apps, film, residencies, music education workshops, and more
We knew Björk's Biophilia project was going to be ambitious. But we didn't know it was going to be this ambitious. According to a press release, Biophilia consists of "a studio album, apps, a new website, custom-made musical instruments, live shows and educational workshops," not to mention a documentary film. Pitchfork's Ryan Dombal recently spoke to Björk about the project; read the interview here. More details below.
The actual 10-song Biophilia album, rumored to be coming out September 26 on One Little Indian/Nonesuch, is just the beginning. As previously reported, Björk will also release Biophilia as an "app album"-- a bundle of 10 iPad apps, with one for each song on the album. Each app will feature "an interactive game based on the song's scientific and musical subject matter, a musical animation of the song, an animated score, lyrics, and an academic essay," according to a press release.
BNM'ed first single "Crystalline", which is out on iTunes now, will receive a video by longtime Björk collaborator Michel Gondry. Here's the single's awesomely nuts cover art:
And previously reported, Björk is currently in the middle of the first run of Biophilia shows, taking place at the Manchester International Festival in Manchester, England. This is indicative of the way she intends to tour behind the album. Over the next three years, she plans to play six-week residencies in eight cities, all at intimate venues, to audiences of less than 2,000. At these performances, she'll use the apps to perform Biophilia in full twice a week. During her residencies, the venues will also collaborate with local schools to host music-education workshops.
For these shows, Björk has commissioned the creation of a number of new music instruments. Says the press release, "Among these creations are four 10-foot pendulum-harps, in which the swinging motion plucks the strings and illustrates the songs' gravitational subject matter. There is also a unique 10-foot pin barrel harp called the Sharpsichord, a midi-controlled pipe organ and celeste (re-fitted with bronze gamelan bars), twin musical tesla coils, a hang player and an award-winning 24-piece Icelandic female choir."
Pulse Films is currently working on a 90-minute documentary about the Biophilia project. The movie will climax with Björk's first performance of the album.
...at the end of those three years, Bjork will move her Biophilia show to Las Vegas where she will fit perfectly between Blue Man Group, Billy Joel and 'O'.

white power?!
8 cities with 6 week residencies seems small, and maybe even too long of a time to spend with all this other stuff. I guess.
Anyhow, if it's only 8 cities...*speculates*
London
New York
Los Angeles
(city in canada, mexico, or iceland)
(australian city)
(city in south america)
Paris
(some other european city)
Oh, and here's an interview from Pitchfork too.

Tokyo
Sydney
Johannesburg
Paris
London
Rio de Janeiro
New York
Los Angeles
gah, how did i forget japan?
Your list looks more likely.
Can't wait till September. Crystalline is so good...
Vancouver would be fantastic, but Toronto would get it if it were to be in Canada
Ugh, San Francisco is definitely not happening. Makes me want to fall on a sword.
.
Don't say that.
I guess I have to travel for this.
upcoming
Bjork doing Biophilia, 6/2 Hollywood Palladium, Los Angeles, CA
Outside Lands, 8/9-11 Golden Gate Park, San Francisco, CA
--almost, almost, almost the real thing
Ha...both, but pretty much the former. We may have to take a trip to LA. Good thing my bro just bought a big house for us to crash at.
Here's a short clip of the tesla coils in action.
I love love love Bjork and she certainly has devoted (some might say obsessive) fans, but six-week residencies? She's not... Prince. These better be fairly intimate venues or she's going to have a lot of empty seats.
"Isobel" would be an awesome track to hear live.
albums about nature and crystals and stuff...so im hoping for a couple shows at Red Rocks...but probably not

hi it's björk here
maybe you heard already but i have a new project coming soon called biophilia
it is an album, an app album, a live show and a new website
to make this project i met some amazing explorers, inventors, scientists and programmers. i thought i'd tell you a bit about the project.
the first single and app is called crystalline. it explores crystal and musical structure, and also features a computer-controlled celeste i had remade with bronze bars. i did a video with michel gondry and there will be remixes coming soon too
the live show starts at manchester international festival for 3 weeks at the end of june and will tour the world for the next 2 years! i will be joined by an icelandic girl choir, a computer-controlled gamelan / celeste and pipe organ, a pendulum harp, a singing tesla coil, a hang player called manu and a pin barrel harp!
i will try to communicate more on the website as things happen. at the moment it is still a holding page but soon the universe will grow with stuff from my old website and new content too. you can explore by clicking and dragging and using the keyboard arrow keys
i'm really excited to show you the project soon!
warmth, björk
