I suppose I'll just get both of those albums then, and go from there. Thanks.

EDIT: Totally forgot about Griever. You guys should get in on this.

Random though I had: When screaming, the Defeater singer sounds like a more controlled version of the guy from Every Time I Die (circa Hot Damn!). Maybe I'm crazy.

Man, that's lame. Was it them that made the Minor Threat shirts a few years back? Or somebody else.

They used to have a Bauhaus shirt. I was always confused by that.

Well, Minor Threat is a better choice than Fugazi, at least.

But yeah, trying to co-opt the dude who made a chorus out of the phrase, "You are not what you own" is probably a bad call.

Been loving this "Michigan" EP from Milwaukee outfit HERDS. Follows suit with the sound I have most favored coming from this realm this year. It reminds me of a more aggressive/blue collar version of the Men album. Or maybe I'm just hoping that comp will motivate you to listen to it

I bought the EP ($4) but you can preview a couple of the songs here too:

Thank you for posting this. It's been forever since I've listen to The Number !2 Looks Like You. Also, I am super new to Scratch Acid. Everyone has been talking about them on here and I went out on a limb and bought a ticket to the show in SF. Where should I start with them so I can complete my homework in time for the show?

I just found out that Geoff got me on the guest list for tonight's last Thursday US show ever so I thought it would be appropriate to write something about them. First time I saw them was at Wetlands in NYC back in 2000 and ever since that show, I didn't want to miss local Thursday show. I saw them play in front of 50 people to over 10000 at Warped Tour when they were at their peak. From 2000-2004, I saw them probably at least 30 times since they were playing anywhere they can at least once a month (saw them open for God Forbid/Glassjaw @ Birch Hill/Saves The Day tour/Every Time I Die & Hopesfall tour/Midtown/Skate & Surf/etc). Thursday was the band that got me into music, and as such, they'll always have a special place in my heart. Since first hearing them (my ears opened to stuff that wasn't on the radio) my tastes broadened and deepened, but when I found out they were playing annual NJ holiday shows with bands like Converge, the Blood Brothers, Dillinger Escape Plan, Glassjaw, and etc ever year, I went to those shows every year. In any case, I still love this band, and probably always will, even if at some point it's out of nostalgia only

They are a band that really cares about their fans as well. So much energy, the crowd singing-along, just like all the hardcore shows I saw when I was a teenager. I donít know what else to say that hasnít already been said about Thursday. The band have spent the last 13 years building something that wonít be soon forgotten. Along the way they have made fans and friends of everyone.

I hope Tom Schlatter joins them during Cross Out the Eyes and Autobiography of a Nation. Tom originally recorded background vocals on the recordings of these songs on Full Collapse, which to me will always be the quintessential Thursday album.

And it's great to see that MewithoutYou (who I haven't seen in years) and Screming Females (no clue who they were when they opened for the Raconteurs in 08) are opening tonight! Speaking of SF, it looks like they were recording with Albini this month and new LP is coming out in April! Gotta love Albini's outfit here.....

Last but not least, my two cents about three bands I used to enjoy...

    Ink and Dagger

Hopesfall (their first two recordings were top notch)

On the Might of Princes (went to go see them in Long Island in early 2000. those LI hardcore shows were the best

Last night I listened to Relationship of Command by At the Drive-In and Full Collapse by Thursday. Both sounded surprisingly solid ten or so years on, especially ATDI.

I don't agree about the WHOLE discography. I was never a fan of Alfaro Vive, Carajo or Hell Paso. Acrobatic Tenement is pretty good, but I feel that El Gran Orgo is where they hit their stride.

Loma Prieta just put out a new album and it's great. Former members of Lewd Acts.

And here's another band I've been listening to lately.

    Burn Your Life Down.

I'm reading Get in the Van right now. Henry Rollins was a whiny bitch, but Nick Cave was hilarious in the 80s.

Okay, so the ep is really fun! The covers are super straight-forward, recorded really raw (possibly live in the studio) with very little post-production, Eric Melvin does 80% of the vocals and the total running time is less then 10 minutes. If they have the energy for it, this would make a great mini set for some of their upcoming shows.

They hung out a lot in 1984. Blixa Bargeld got super trashed and tried to jump out of a car on the freeway because he had to pee and Nick Cave and Rollins conned their way into an Australian Filmmakers event then told people they were filmmakers from Nazi Germany.
