Cool stuff in the Bay Area

I just moved up here a few months ago and I'm loving it, but I still barely know anyone, and have only scratched the surface on cool shit to do. HALP!

So far I'm loving Toronado, Mission barhopping in general, that corner in Berkeley with all the Brazilian food, hip hop/dubstep shows at 103 Harriet, The Green Cross delivery service, the Palo Alto Nuthouse (is this the only place in Palo Alto/Menlo Park/Mountain View that isn't completely loaded with douchebags?), etc. etc.

Why are you spending time in Palo Alto at all? What are you looking for? If you like Toronado you might also like Lucky 13 on Market/14th.

I should have clarified, I live in Palo Alto. It works for now for my own purposes but once I get a pay raise or better job I'm moving closer to the city.

I do love the hiking around San Antonio Ranch/Skyline though, definitely do that if you're into the outdoors.

Nope, I refuse to go anywhere but the Nuthouse. I'll try Rancho San Antonio once the weather improves, I love the hiking and nature out here. I kinda like being around Stanford students and all this tech/venture capital, it's inspiring.

I spend most of my time in San Francisco (I was working a project there for the first few months I was here). I'm from LA so I have to get to a city 2-3 times a week. Can't wait to move closer.

This thread makes me feel old. I remember when shallow alto seemed fun back when I first moved to CA fresh outta school at the peak of the tech boom. A year later there were fucking tumblweeds rolling through there and nothing but unbearable stanford people.
