really excited for tomorrow.
the music is what its all about, you love it just like i love it.
SBTRKT was awful at HHM'11... dude can't sing for shit. Vibe was horrible, I have no idea why soo many ppl are on their nuts.
Coachella Weekend #1
thats how i felt i was like if he just didnt sing it would be better. HAHA or get the chick on wildfire to be their lead singer..cause he is super flat and has no pitch
Paul is dead
SBTRKT is the drummer, Sampha is the singer. Just sayin.
I though SBTRKT were pretty solid at HHM although their sound problems kind of put a damper on things.
He's not a bad drummer at all, it's just that he's trying to do WAY too many things at once.
Practice makes perfect!
One of the worst shows I've seen all year. Walked out about three quarters through.
I hear his dj sets are good.
Rhythm is a dancer.
They nailed the drumming and vocals last week in Chicago. Maybe they are just getting their touring legs. With so many divergent accounts of the live show, the jury is still out.
I know personally that I saw an amazing show. I was impressed with SBTRKT's drumming and always appreciate a producer who plays an instrument. Sampha's singing was on key, energetic and highly emotional.
The album vs. the live show vs. the dj set are very different beasts, that is certain.
What do you think about the album?
It's good. Definitely has some nice moments.
Rhythm is a dancer.
I kind of agree with Forza with this. My first reaction after hearing the album was that it was along the lines of a lot of the r&b sound floating around within the "future sound" artists, except just done better. I haven't listened to the album too much since it first came out, some of the songs are so catchy and get stuck in my head for a day or two - and I really hate when that happens. I thought SBTRKT and Sampha did an excellent job of performing that album live and found myself to be way more entertained than I anticipated even though I kept hearing excellent reviews from people that I completely trust when it comes to music.
Really hope SBTRKT plays this year. Latest album is fantastic
