I am sure the lineup will be just as great though for the regular Bestival!

I went to the 2008 version headlined by Underworld and My Bloody Valentine. It poured rain practically the whole time we were there! Despite the rivers of mud, we had a blast! We are planning to go again this year! Who else is going?

After attending last year, I would absolutely love to attend this year. I don't see it happening for me though. This festival is highly recommended! Medieval sounds like a fun fancy dress theme too.

Bestival just announced their second round of lineup announcements. The fancy dress theme this year will be ROCK STARS, POP STARS and DIVAS.

They added a whole slew of artists and djs including Fatboy Slim, Groove Armada, Pj Harvey, the Village People(haha genius booking for the fancy dress theme), Pendulum (Friday Headliner),Kelis, Big Audio Dynamite, James Blake, Mogwai, Toots and the Maytals, Cut Copy, Zola Jesus, Modeselektor, Fake Blood, Junip ( Jose Gonzalez project),Andrey Triana, Ulrich Schnauss, Tensnake, Venetian Snares, the Drums...plus more..

There's still one more round of artists they announce including the Sunday Headliner.

I'm doing the 4 month payment plan, now I just got to save for some plane tickets. This should be epic!

well this is interesting.

Bestival organisers have announced plans to screen footage of the festival in 3D.

Organisers have signed a deal with Sky TV to screen over seven hours of live footage from the Isle Of Wight event over the weekend of September 8-11.

Two hours of live 3D TV will be broadcast each day from the site which will see The Cure, Primal Scream, PJ Harvey, Public Enemy and Robyn perform.

I was thinking last night that one solution for the Leftfield/PJ conflict and the problem with Robyn running right up into the Chems set time would be to go to Bestival...

So as someone going for their first time (and possibly by myself) what should I expect/be prepared for

Long ferry lines, a lot of costumes on Saturday, everyone having a good time - getting very drunk, people amazed you traveled so far to attend, rain/mud, lots of good food, not a whole lot of drugs available, a lot of people talking during shows towards the back, not a whole lot of people that are informed about the lineup, music going for like 18-20 hours per day.
