Which acts on the 2011 lineup should be avoided because they consistently fail to impress when they play concerts? (Even though they may sound good in the studio.)

Interpol, unless you're a fanboy.
In before everyone says Crystal Castles.
They're gonna kick ass this year
Best Coast... Saw them at FYF. Or maybe it was just the festival that sucked.

Haha I passed out under a tree after during Best Coast at FYF due to a mix of heat exhaustion, dehydration, and disappointment. I will definitely not waste my time on them this year. And overall, I thought FYF was a great value. You can't expect anything better than what it was for only $25. (Although I do wish there was more than one water fountain at the entire festival.)
The water issue and lack of food trucks (they claimed to have 12, there were only two) was my only big issue. I can deal with the heat. At least I wasn't one of the unlucky ones who purchased a VIP ticket for FYF. $25 isn't bad, but $75 is not something I'd want to pay on top of how much I spent on water.

Whiskey Sour
2 oz blended whiskey
Juice of 1/2 lemon
1/2 tsp powdered sugar
1 cherry
1/2 slice lemon
Shake blended whiskey, juice of lemon, and powdered sugar with ice and strain into a whiskey sour glass. Decorate with the half-slice of lemon, top with the cherry, and serve.
I saw something awesome at FYF...
While everyone was waiting in line for water, a golf cart pulled up with a bunch of palates of water to resuply the booth. Then some kid steals a palate of water... And wile being chased disappears into the crowd. The all of a sudden I can see an eruption of water bottles flying through the air sharing bottles with everyone. I kinda look at him as the Robbin hood of FYF.

Unless you like making your ears cry.
Interpol, based on their boring as hell Coachella 2007 performance.

I'm surprised to not see Ariel Pink mentioned yet (just to be clear, I don't think he's bad live, but I've seen many on the boards say the opposite).

Gorillaz from last year. Speaking of free water, my girl and I found a large trashbag full of cold water behind a trash can last year at Coachella. We found it on Saturday and there was still plenty left on Sunday. So whoever's treat it was, thank you!

Crystal Castles, the Strokes, Kings of Leon.
LoL because they were soo off time and there instrument were out of tune. The way they left the stage was gangster. BTW I wouldn't be drinking out of trashbags of water, probably was melted ice water they use for cooling off water bottles they sell. Think of all the dirty hands that your gf was drinking.
The Radio Dept. was really, really bad when I saw them last week. I just don't think their live sound translates at all. They had a drum machine that was louder than any of the actual instruments...it was not good.

Best Coast is great for... 2 songs. Then you should catch someone else.
I don't think so. That venue has some of the best sound in the entire city and I've never had a problem there before. Also it was their second night there. Apparently they don't tour very often. My advice is that you should still check them out if there are no other conflicts or anything since you like their music, but if there is a conflict opt out of seeing them.
