Austin City Limits won in 2005, which I can attest was a great festival and at the time was my favorite I had been too so far. But then I started going to Coachella in 2006 and they've won ever since

Most years' nominees seem to be Coachella, ACL, Lolla, and Bonnaroo.

I love that there's "best major music festival" and "best music festival." I'm also really glad that Newport Folk Fest won "best music festival" this year, they do a phenomenal job with that and it's a great, great experience.
