Coachella 2010, Day 3

Howdy. This one's gonna start off weird. One of the things requested of me when i take pictures is to get shots of the sponsors. Someone else went out into the parking lots this morning while i ventured into those tents set up to provide shade, liquid, electricity and the hope you like what they have to offer.

The guy on the right did something smart. He wrote contact info (blurred out on my part) on his kid's legs.


Got to pop my head in for a minute for King Kong and the Shrines.

In the past i haven't taken pictures in the Artist Compund because i thought it was rude. This day i was asked to. It led to something awesome for me.






This guy is the Swedish Egil. i used to work with and for him at points in my life. It was cool running into him. i asked what he was up to and he said he was going to interview Ritchie Hawtin. i offered to take a picture for him (gah-fah...geek noise). After that i asked what he was doing next. "I'm going to interview Orbital." i offered to take pictures for that too.


Fortunately i had time to check out De La Soul.

Thanks Drinkey. The tents get swankier every year. Glad you appreciated their inclusion in this thread. i was going to leave them out, but figured if it's part of Coachella, it should be part of the thread. i tried my best to leave out who the sponsors were (sure some of you can figure them out).

Egil talking to the Phil and Paul Hartnoll of Orbital. There was a conflict with the Coachella Film Crew in regards to interview time. i said i would wait until the Crew did their interview and then take the picture for Egil. The director of the Film Crew said "What? You're not going to take pictures of our interview?" Hell yes.

So due to clusterfuckery, i chose to use the backstage area to insure i got to Jonis on time. Right when i turned to get to the Outdoor Stage, i saw Jonsi and his band doing their group prayer before their set. Wow. Orbital and then this. Good day.

loved this new location for the artist compound, no more having to wade through the vip to get to a nice relaxing place. ate lunch by the pond every day last year, hope it's the same this year.

The laptops you see in the sponsor tents were availble for guests to use. In the V.I.P. area, i suspect the laptop users might be press.

Cool. That seems like a very proper use of the pictures. The random slideshows i get when my monitor needs to change things up can be quite fun. Nice to know i'm not alone in that pleasure.
