This show seems booked especially for my birthday weekend!!! And I'm going to be in LA with friends, anyway, so I'll now be driving the shit out that rental car to get up north and see the Purple One.

Yea that 'homophobe' thing was really taken out of context. (Not that I think his actual comments were right, but come on). I can't find the actual quote anymore but it was more along the lines of saying he just follows what the bible teaches (him) and that he didn't believe it was right (for him) but also said that he thinks some churches/religion read more into scripture than is there. (Meaning, he doesn't think the bible is against it).

Let's face it: no matter what he believes, he is pretty hard core into his religion, and he probably would not oppose church policy to the media; and secondly, it makes a much more controversial story to make it seem like Prince hates the gays, whereas a story where Prince was neutral towards or supported gay marriage would just have people saying, 'wait, isn't Prince gay?'

FWIW the JW church has a weird stance on the matter, they think homosexuality is wrong but recognize that a person is born with their sexual preference. I guess you're just supposed to, I don't know, not have sex? Please.

Makes me weary about buying tickets for M/W. On one hand, I have a good sized group extremely down to go. But, as usual, they slack and I buy tickets. But in the case of Prince, I actually can't let them wait.

But if he does a 'secret' show on Tues, then they can go fuck themselves because that's where I'll be. Because I'm selfless like that.

Either way I dont care. Its not like he preaches about it in his songs or is actively trying to stop gays from having rights etc. Obviously not everyone is going to be on "our" side. Then I tried to go to a TicketMaster outlet, which turned out to be in the Greyhound station, and there was a self-service machine that didn't work because someone had smeared jam into the credit card reader.

if he does the warfield, he would probably do the standard ticket procedure he has done in the past. 2 ticket max with TM and all tix at will call. pickup with id and you have to go straight in. but we will have to see how these shows sell and i think they will do very well and maybe he will add more.

regardless we get a minimum of 2 shows next week with the Purple one! fucking epic!!
