Harmony Festival - Santa Rosa, CA June 10-12, 2011

Hey all!

So we can expect the Harmony Festival lineup to be released this Wednesday (tomorrow!), or at least thats what I hear.

My friend was at a Grace Potter concert yesterday for some promotional function, and it was announced that we could expect to see Grace Potter and the Nocturnals at Harmony this year, alongside:

Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros
and
The Flaming Lips


This has me really excited for the rest of the lineup to be released!

I'd expect more of the same godawful white hippie dudes with dreadlocks singing reggae bullshit with maybe two or three bands worth seeing.

The overkill of liberal activist "cultural" music in the vein of Michael Franti at festivals is something northern california needs to stop fucking doing.

I went last year, had a blast. The great thing about this festival which I enjoyed particularly were the amount of young kids in attendance not your typical 16-20 year old kids with EGO's like no other. A huge sense of local community support with this event. Maybe I'll head back again this year.

i wasnt sure if i was going to go this year, but flaming lips got me also the fact that this is in my back yard makes it that much nicer. Lauryn hill,tipper,lynx and janover, zappa plays zappa, where all great last year. and techno-tribal seems to grab a couple good elctro acts each year.

we are waiting on a full techno-tribal lineup. ghostland is headlining sat of techno tribal, which is the night part of the fest.. should be interesting to see who else they pull.

Its actually not bad.

I could see myself coming up and catching a day or two, but I don't know about camping out for three days for this.
