I bought my pass to coachella all stoked to see rage but now that I look into more of the other bands there I'm even more excited! There seems to be alot of good electronic acts. Does that kind of music sound good live? I ask becuase a lot of rap/hip-hop sounds good on the album but just not as good live.
the lineup as it is is great but i really hope daft punk is added
yeah right
coachella vet: 02, 03, 06, 07, 08, 09......

oh man.. please do not refer it to it as "techno" music.. please. Techno is it's genre in electronic music.. Daft Punk would most likely fit the "house" category, but I think they deserve their own genre. LoL, yes "techno" sounds great live.. it sounds EXACTLY the same, because most of the time it's not really live, but a deejay playing exactly what you heard.
OUTKAST 2014
Röyksopp, FC Kahuna, Télépopmusik, The Knife, RJD2, Futue Sound of London, The Avalanches, 808 State, Zero 7, Tycho, Mr. Scruff
it sounds much better live, though it's not really live.
i say it sounds better for 2 reasons. first, the atmosphere at a club adds to the experience. second, the sound system at the club or venue is almost always going to be much better than what you have at home or in the car.
well there's rock, post rock, punk rock, pop rock, indie rock, hardcore, emo, emocore, screamo, grindcore, post punk, post hardcore, metal, progressive, hard rock, alternative rock, folk rock, art rock, christian rock, experimental rock, garage rock, glam rock, detroit rock, brit rock, brit pop, surf rock, kraut rock, rockabilly, soft rock, grunge, post-grunge, rap rock, nu-metal, math rock, electro rock......and so on
lol, yet you probably know the difference between indie, hard and alternative rock...
electronica is just the medium, there are many different sounds of electronica that can easily be described using major genres (techno, drum and bass, trance, house) just like there are many different sounds of rock that are described with different genres (like the ones listed above).
exactly.
Next time Tom's at a social function I hope someone comes up to him and asks what his favorite band is and he replies something like The Clash. Then then the person would say "no way, mine is Twisted Sister! What a coincidence. We both like rock bands. Let me introduce you to that Fall Out Boy fan over there. We've got loads to talk about".
electronic music was all called "techno" until someone from the LA times or other publication in 1996 decided to re-christen it "electronica" to make it sound more exotic.
daft punk is absolutely techno.
and house.
tech-house.
I prefer "Electronic"
The "a" at the end is all kinds of gay.
well I'm sure not interested in a "daft punk isn't _____! everyone knows it's really _______ and if you don't know it's ______ you're ignorant" contest because those types of arguements always end with people bringing out their resumes of how long they've been in the scene, et cetera et cetera, and in the end the only people left interested are the 2 people flaming eachother over semantics.
I love techno.
Does not compute....Jack is wrong.
