Default My friends backed out, should i still go?

Pros: I love the lineup, been excited for months, tickets already purchased

Cons: Dont have a ride from LAX (but i can probably get one from someone in my family), no camping spot (anymore), dont know anyone there (anymore)

So should I stay or should i go? any helpful advice?

    you should absolutely go solo.

find a ride, meet new people, camp with them. share a spicy pie with a stranger.

Exactly. Don't let anyone tell you differently.
I feel sorry for people who don't do drugs. When they wake up in the morning, that's as good as they're going to feel all day.

    Make it an adventure.

Finding a ride to Coachella from LA - EASY

Getting a place to stay - a little more difficult - but as a solo - can be done - keep going on the message boards and make connections...you'll find someone

Going by yourself in the festival - 100% BLAST! I did it for years and even now with my group I leave them for a period of the day to venture out alone.

It's an experience you'll never forget and something once accomplished you'll do every year.

Don't puss out.....my bet is that you puss out....most can't handle the thought of going alone. Let's see what you do...post after the festival
Just when I think you couldn't possibly be any dumber, you go and do something like this…and totally redeem yourself!

Go silly! You can find a ride and I am sure you can find a campshare and you will meet so many people. Just do it! PM me if you can't find anyplace to camp. We can shoehorn you in a spot for a sleeping bag if nothing else.

    Go!
My group cancelled on me 4 days before the festival, and I went by myself. It was the best weekend of my year. You still have so much time to plan!

i met a number of people last year who had been bailed on.... honestly, no matter how many people you come w/... Coachella is a personal experience. Theres no one to ruin ur weeknd when ur solo.
Coachella 07 (the introduction), 08 (the bands), 09 (the documentary), 10 (the people i came with), 11 (the relationship test... we passed), 12 (whatever the weather, Dirty Epic forever), 13 (the year of the troll)

You'll regret it if you don't go. This will be my third year going solo, and it's one of the best weekends of the year for me. Meet tons of people, see all the shows that YOU want to see, and not worry about meeting up with people or waiting for your friends to go to the bathroom. I go to ACL and Lolla every year with my family and it's a totally different experience.

Can't really tell you anything that'll make you believe me, but you should definitely go. I actually went solo to the first one in '99, and have been to five or six with friends since. (After 1999, I learned how to make friends.)

Also don't know quite how to put this, but I'd buy your spare ticket(s) *and* give you a ride from LAX. I have a couple of other friends who want to go, so I don't know how many tix you have, and I realize this is a long shot, but there it is.
As authoritatively spoken by my best friend's 9-year-old daughter (admirably living in Portland):
"Heaven is not a place on Earth! Whoever wrote that song needs to go to college!"

If youre not 100% on going solo, sell your ticket (preferably at face value... after the wristbands arrive) to someone who genuinely wants to go.

If you think you can hang, I know plenty of people that fly solo to festivals that come back with amazing stories of meeting new friends/embracing the festival spirit.

Going solo just means you get to see who you want and when!! I was solo the first night of Coachella last year, and [secretly] I had more fun/least amount of stress just bouncing around tent to tent and making friends, than when I was with a group of people with different tastes/food schedules/trip lengths haha

Agreed with meeting people. I've met plenty of guys and girls at the festival. One female I met with her friend ...we ended up jumping from band to band then hooking up that night.

If you are friendly...meeting people at Coachella is super easy. Girls have thier guards down and are cool and guys are just as happy as can be. It doesn't get any better.

I've been to a few other music fests alone (this is my first time for Coachella tho), and once you get there, with the crowd and everything you stop worrying about being alone. Most of the people I've met and struck up a conversation with were really nice. Also, you don't have to rely on other people, you can plan your own schedule, if you want to leave and go check out someone else, you just go (what Rachelll0ve said).

Bottom line - GO! You won't regret it.
We're here to play some Mississippi Delta Blues. We're in a horrible depression, and I gotta admit - we're starting to like it.

As long as you are a cool person there will be plenty of people at Coachella that will be your friend for the weekend (and maybe even longer than that). Last year a few friends and I were camping right next to a guy that was there by himself. He ended up hanging out with us all weekend and is now planning on camping with us again this year.

Rent a locker and bring a sleeping bag, then just post up wherever on the camping fields. No camping spot necessary.

2007 was first year I went. I met my friend there he had to wing it a day there with out me. He said he had a blast meeting new people. I gave him my hotel room and he met lots of friends. I'm going solo this year for the first time in 4 years and I am going to enjoy making new friends. I got an extra bed in my hotel, I will be in my rent a car alone. I will welcome people to come along and hang out and party with me. I'm coming all the way from Arlington TX were the Super Bowl is on Sunday and I am so ready to rock out to all the great bands.

After going with friends 3 other years I went solo last year when everyone bailed. I ended up having one of the best Coachella's ever. Met sooo many people I probably wouldn't have if I had been with my group. Tried to get a group together this year and many people were down, but this whole selling out in a week deal kinda ruined that and I am the only one that got a ticket. Even though I wanted to go down with ssome friends I know I will have a blast going solo anyways. After last year I know some people from different states/countries that are going again that I plan on meating up with, but mostly it is just gonna be another adventure. Coachella is one place where going solo can really work out amazingly well in my experience.

Same thing happened to me last year. I went, met awesome people, and had a blast. Do it!
I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched moonbeams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time... like tears in the rain...
