Agreed. Personally I would be very pissed off if One Day as a Lion plays vs Arcade Fire. I think One Day as a Lion is an outdoor theater kind of thing around sunset, maybe main stage afternoon.

And yes, their one EP is fairly short, a 45 minute set, playing all the songs plus maybe one Rage song seems likely.

Really doubt they play any Rage songs. Plus, I could see them playing at night in the tent.

I really don't see Tallest Man on Earth playing so late, and during Arcade Fire. He has a pretty big fan base that seems to be GENERALLY around the same as Arcade Fire's fanbase. I see him more as a sun-set closer of the Gobi. Also not sure about Empire of the Sun playing during Arcade Fire. Otherwise very accurate

It wouldn't be a socal festival if everything wasn't fashionably late.

Remember how last year we didn't get maps or anything until we got there. First time I saw it all was in the booklets.

Also, I agree that Tallest Man on Earth vs. Arcade Fire is a

I heard something about geting Jenny and Johnny out of the Gobi. Switch them with Thao with the Get Down Stay Down?

I would love that, but that seems like a bigger spot than Thao has earned. Maybe do this, then switch Thao and Raphael Saadiq to give him the night slot?

Also, the Mojave seems over-stuffed with acts who've played bigger stages. Swell Season and Scissor Sisters both played the outdoor last time they came, Gogol played the main. All three downgrading to a tent strikes me as unlikely. Gogol on the outdoor?

Is there a precedent to explain why Scissor Sisters are where they are after they closed out the Outdoor the last time they played?

Usually when bands return to play Coachella, the typically do not play in the same slot, and more often than not, they do not return to the same stage. The Scissor Sisters will most likely play at night, but not on the Outdoor again. They wont play the mainstage at night (not big enough) or the gobi (too big). So, this leaves the mojave and sahara and, in my opinion, the Scissor Sisters will not be in the Sahara. So this leaves one. The mojave.

This isn't always the case. Hasn't Air played the outdoor twice? When I clicked on this, I was sure I'd be able to think of more examples, but now I can't.

Usually. I said usually. Not always. Usually. After reviewing the set times... usually acts do not return to the same stage they played on last time. Some exception are like Muse - Mainstage in 04 and 2010. Kings of Leon -mainstage in 07 and 2011. The Kills - Mojave 2005 and 2009. These are just a couple. Sometimes acts go up a stage in size (Gogol Bordello - 2007 mojave, 2008 mainstage), sometimes acts go down in size (Animal Collective - 2006 outdoor, 2008 mojave). But usually when the return, they play a different stage than the stage they played the previous time.

These 'stage' and 'timeslot' rules are not set in stone.

The rules can be broken if the primary scheduling philosophy is in jeopardy:

Avoid having two or more bands who appeal to the same demographic playing at the same time.

Only the needs/wants of the performers themselves can supersede the primary scheduling philosophy.

Saturday's scheduling difficulties arise from having so many bands from the same demographic who want/need to play at night.

If the Sahara is lacking in numbers, I could see Yelle on in midday (4-5) for a nice live set if they aren't planning lineup additions.

If you replace Steve Angello with Swedish House Mafia, it looks a lot better. I think that would take Axwell out of the Sahara on Sunday though.

Suede that early is just not going to happen. PiL wasn't a subhead but they closed out the Outdoor Stage after Vampire Weekend who was listed before them on the same line. I'm not saying Suede will close by any means, but they will not be on at 5.

Also Erykah Badu hasn't become any more or less relevant since 2008 and she played late afternoon on the main stage at ACL. Seems like a good fit for her now.

That is reasonable. I guess I'm just being selfish preferring a 7-8PM Outdoor
