It's my favorite of hers, too. It must have been about PTA, so i could imagine her wanting to retire it. Hopefully not permanently. It's a stunner.

It's good but nothing great. Not bad for her first show in 7 years. Wonder what her other new songs sound like.

For you Fiona fans, there was a really cool episode of Iconoclasts featuring her and Quentin Tarantino.

You can watch the whole episode (all five parts) on youtube. Here is part one:

Ivy (chairmenmeow47) scored 3 seats for me, shakermaker, & herself during the presale. Are you saying it's already sold out?

Sure is. Tried for an hour and then headed to StubHub. The scalpers must've been born in the 90s and had no idea who Fiona was because there were some reasonable deals on there. Don't think they quite anticipated this demand. Got 3 tickets for $70 ea. Not bad. Do you know how much the TicketMaster tix were with fees included?

tickets were $66 each. we're sitting in the balcony. i am such a tard and kept refreshing fiona's homepage, only to realize the presale was on another site that was very hard for me to find. thankfully i got tickets, but they would have been better if i would have been on the right site.

i think rick is going, not captn crazy. either way, i would love to meet up with people before the show, so long as rick and edward are interested

If you ignore the $20 in StubHub fees, I essentially paid a 6% markup. Wow. That has to be the lowest markup I've ever paid on secondary market tickets. So excited to see her. As for meetups, I'll be visiting friends in the Bay Area for a long weekend, so I'll be at the mercy of their schedules. Put me down as a maybe.

I mentioned the website & password on Facebook.

Yeah, I'm the one attending, not Jen. Forgot that she was the one logged in when I checked the board yesterday. She'll be in tow, though, and Rage, if any of your friends are wanting to hang out but won't be going to the show, they can hang out & drink beers with her while we're enjoying Fiona.

Used a friend in the box office to score third row tix for SLC. $70 though! Should be a great night.

For real, the squeaks/pops/clatters make every song sound like it's on the brink of madness. Good stuff

Just finished listening to/ripping the stream. I like it a lot. But mainly, I've been thinking that this album doesn't have the GRANDNESS of her other albums. It's so much more intimate. It sounds like you're in the room with her. The sound of this album pulls you right to where she is instead of transporting you to some other place.
The same can be said about the lyrics. Everything seems pretty straight forward.
I don't know that I've felt like I was as much in Fiona's workspace as I do with this one. But so far, I really like what I'm hearing.

Goodness knows I'm still excited to see Fiona in concert, but I don't know about this album. It's a good thing it's her fourth. Were it her first, I think she'd probably be teaching middle school art by now and Fiona Shaw would be the most well known Fiona. I've only given it a few spins, so hopefully it gets more interesting after sitting with me for a while. That being said, Every Single Thing, Anything We Want and Hot Knife are stunners.
