I'm sure they have a back way for the shuttles. They wouldn't be so dumb as to just shove the shuttles out into traffic.

As for it selling out, why freak out? Don't ACL, Glastonbury, etc. all sell out super fast no matter the line up? So it's nothing surprising....

Agreed. I think I needed a place to rant more than anything. This posts serves that purpose well.

Regardless, thank god I've at least got a pass. It would have been really cute to be stuck with a week trip of sitting in Palm Desert.

i expect to complain before, complain during, and complain after...but just like a marathon...i keep signing up.

got our tickets this morning just before they added the shuttle thingy. which would have made no sense for us given we are renting a house walking distance from the place

I called Valley Music Travel (who works in conjunction with Goldenvoice) and asked them many questions before I made my purchase. They said they do have different routes (read: non-general public) which let them skip the traffic. Other than the Palm Springs line, the shuttles run nonstop throughout the day. Just back and forth from their specified hotels. My main worry was how long it would take to actually get on a shuttle at the end of the night and she said there are just lines of shuttles waiting. As soon as one fills up, it takes off and the next one pulls up. She said last year (with Clusterfuckchella numbers) there was never more than a 20 minute wait. I'm totally sold on the shuttles.

I just paid 371 cause my dumbass friend can't afford one til feb. 1st.

Interestingly, when i looked over the order of the ticket i purchased 2 days ago, it seemed to show that my 3-day pass came with a shuttle pass as well...but for only 320.00. What's up with that?

Thanks for sharing; This is starting to sound like a good idea, especially since a shuttle is supposed to go directly to my hotel in PD. Count me as "won over."

Buy it immediately for chrisake. Take it out of savings if you have to. Now that people know they are low, I predict it's going to get bum-rushed tonight.

That is, if 60k were sold out by this morning.

Rosemont17 is right about waiting closer to event time for ticket prices. I learned my lesson the hard way. When Coachella sold out in 2007 thanks to RATM, I immediately panicked and looked on eBay, where market price was just around double. I snatched a 3-day from there. When the week of the event finally rolled around, I saw a ton of tickets being dumped on CL for face value or less.

In summary, if the tickets sell out on you, don't bother looking for them until early April at the earliest. That is because most of the stuff on eBay right now is obviously from greedy scalpers, while last minute auctions/posts are most likely from actual concert-goers who had to drop out last minute. Sure, there may still be inflated prices in the final week, but there ARE also normal folk who just wanna recover their money without any hassle or haggling. For instance, while camping ticket prices were still through the roof last year, a friend of mine still managed to find a girl on CL who sold her extra car camping for face value.

It says on the main page that shuttles will be running from the tennis gardens??? Does that mean if you get tix now, the tennis garden is your only option for a shuttle??

I think it would be safe to assume that, yes.

Go to the Valley Shuttle website and buy the pass + fest pass for whatever line you want.

Well, I guess I will be selling my ticket to someone for face value after all. I got stuck working the festival this year, which is sort of a good thing now that I have my job back.

Edit: No more PMS pls (12:49 1/26)

I can't believe there are still people in this thread advocating anything other than sprinting to your computer and buying tickets this second. I guarantee that you'll have to pay the $50 extra anyways on any scalped ticket (if not hundreds more). Like somebody said, blogs and Facebook are buzzing about this now...we know at least 60,000 sold out in 5 days, and with the extra panic I can't see how 15,000 (and that's if no shuttle passes were even purchased prior to this, which is doubtful, so the real number of tickets is probably much less) won't sell out by today.
