The best part is that this is a remix he made. So I think it's reasonable to say that just playing the track is an acceptable way of releasing it. I don't think he has to go crazy with his mixing skills on the songs maiden voyage.
tl;dr DJ you don't like enjoying what they do. U REAL MAD BRO.
The problem was (and still is) that (good and/or rare) EDM acts are too expensive for a Tucson weekend event. You will never see a Sasha, John Digweed, The Chems, Underworld or anyone of that stature in Tucson unless its a one-off show on a Wednesday or Thursday night at the Rialto. They charge too much money and don't have enough of a draw in a town like this.
Instead, you will get tons of club/Rialto events with artists like Christopher Lawrence (who plays Arizona like 20 times a year it seems) or Steve Aoki.
As for Kenny's happy hardcore reference. I was unaware people still booked Happycore DJ's in Arizona, but then again I haven't been to an Arizona party since like 2004.
Biggest set to avoid?
Kings of Leon
Or all of the above?

Dude is a good producer and a mediocre DJ, but there's not much money in just making music. I can't say I like his crowd, but his stuff isn't bad at all.
By the time I got to AZ, Markus Schulz was doing bigger events. I can only recall one or two parties he played at when I was going between 2000-04. He was doing spot gigs in Phoenix area clubs, but not too much.
A couple of underground whorehouse parties in the sac/bay area.
However we have no evidence thus far that his production has any more than that half-dimension. Meanwhile bassnectar has a long history of relatively diverse music (compared to skrillex), even if happens to have narrowed at the moment.
This comparison could only be made by someone who's never heard of bassnectar before last year
and even beyond that, fuck you.

I was just gonna pipe up and say that bassnectar is officially a douche now. he rolls to smaller gigs with an extra 16 folded 15 sub cabs (it's shite PK stuff but w/e) and he's the ONLY GUY allowed to use them that night, so no matter how good his openers are, he always SOUNDS better. and instead of hanging out with the techs and DJs like he used to, he now sits on his bus with bitches and security
I don't know if this has been mentioned already.. or if it's worth mentioning..
but not only is he not fucking doing anything in that video, he's not even smoking that cigarette.
what a d-bag.
I don't think Skrillex would be doing big gigs if this were the mid-90's because he'd be able to make money for himself and the label selling music. Nowadays, when an artist has 1 big track, they have to ride the momentum and tour. I'm sure the label pushed Skrillex hard to tour when "Scary Monsters" became such a huge track.
CRAP CRAP CRAP
don't poop on my CRAP PARADE
i can honestly say i haven't listened to ANY skrillex
the music is what its all about, you love it just like i love it.
lol @ groupthink. I can't believe this is 11 pages. I finally heard music from him the other day. I don't see nothing wrong with it. It's not my taste cause it's cheesy and too damn happy for me and makes me feel like I'm a 14 year old girl raging against my parents by staying out til 10:30 BUT I see the appeal.
But the amount of anger you guys put into hating someone who loves what they do for a living and isn't detrimental to anybody is priceless. You guys complain about people saying Coachella sucks cause of the headliners and say "There's 4 other stages" but I honestly think this hate thread has more pages for any other artist not named DFA1979. I hope all you hear walking to your car Sunday when you leave 20 people saying Skrillex was the best Sahara act all weekend. :-p
