Fair enough. To each his own.
This ain't no middle of the mall shit.
In all honesty though, aside from Skrillex as a person, I dont know why this is the dub-step artists thats getting all the negative attention. What makes this guy any different than lets say Excision or Datsik?
He's just more popular. Pretty much all dupstep is equally awful.
There are decent Benny Bennassi tracks?
fucking despise Skrillex... I haven't even seen him ever touch some sort of cdj or anything he just uses his akai drumpad.... why isnt there a ban skrillex from the pure filfth stage already? I mean the ban aoki thread is still active haha. God damnit aoki will be present this year too cause hes playing with shitty ass death crew
I am not a big fan of Skrillex, especially after seeing him play live, however, this track is a guilty pleasure now.

or maybe I'm just pining for a new Justice album already.

As the deeper side of dubstep is beginning to grow, I've actually noticed a lot more decent producers coming out of the states.
Falty DL, DJG, Distal, just to name a few. People who're saying all dubstep is terrible should check out some of the future garage thats been coming out lately.
And big up to whoever books the artists for coachella. The pure filth stage is filled with anything but filth, and I couldnt be any happier. See ya all in april.
I'm so glad the majority of Coachella-goers aren't posting here, because the event would be a bunch of dorks with their arms folded looking down on anyone smiling or having fun.
Skrillex made some huge tracks and a lot of people like him. I saw one of his sets in SF over the weekend and it wasn't bad, though I do prefer a more proper DJ like Nero or Excision.
I have nothing against people's different tastes in music, but I'd personally rate Excision and Nero in the same class of new-wave "filth" dubstep thats been gaining lots of attention over the past few years, and that Skrillex is part of.
edit: btw does anyone know if Mala is still supposed to be coming?

>>Implying playing an unreleased track means lack of talent in the studio.
I actually enjoy Skrillex's tunes, but they go nuts and that's about it.. They're good when you're drunk ragin' at a party..
But his tracks seem to lack depth, meaning almost.. I think most of the fellas on here hate his music because of that. Here comes this guy, making tracks that are all over the place, no real depth or emotion for that matter (though fairly intense and well produced), while simultaneously attracting a multitude of douche bags to a genre of music that at one point in time was little known.
I feel like Skrillex is going to be the Jbeibs of dubstep.. The majority will love him.. The people that have been with the genre since its beginnings will hate him.. But eventually his music will die out.. Granted this his first EP, people change, and so will his music.
Something like this though, will never die.

Now compare that to this

What would you rather listen to? I feel like it would be a no brainer for most. When I listen to skrillex I'm along the lines of, "HOLY SHIT MAN THIS IS NUTS SWEET BRO." But when I hear something by Magnetic man I'm speechless.. It has depth, meaning, emotion, soul. And for those reasons, it hits harder than any Skrillex track could ever achieve.
With that being said, music evolves. Things change to adapt or accommodate various audiences and pushes genres in different directions. Even if you think it is the wrong one, in a sense it stems and promotes creativity and for that I salute you Skrillex.
But fuck, I think I just made myself not like you. xD
Edit: Sorry I don't know how to embed youtube videos, I'm fucking retarded.

Let me see what you're workin with
Mittens plays records--> http://soundcloud.com/stunmo/set-styles-on-stun

I've been listening to Dustep for a few years now(4ish). Benga,Burial, Chase and Status, coki, cookie monsta,n-type,rusko(pre 2007), Stenchman,Suspicious stench, nero, 6blocc, bar 9(love).
I'm not totally new to Dubstep, but i'm also not totally new to appreciating other people creativity.
If Your going to talk shit on his mixing ability you need to realize this. Skrillex is a PRODUCER. He makes music. When people hear it, it creates a demand for him. This puts him at live show, having not spent years learning to mix, but rather producing. I see it in the EDM scene all the time.
There is a demand for talent, but its producers up there mixing, so you cannot expect them to become masters of the art in a year or less.
This is not always the case, but it does happen and sometime happens for big names.
Just cause you don't like something doesn't make it bad.Things Change, Genres change, Sounds change, style change.
Are you not willing to accept change?
If this is the case then just listen to the same playlist for the rest of your life.
Just don't complain about it.
Try to think positively, you'll have more fun that way.
Isn't the Point of Coachella to have fun and APPRECIATE music?
