nuff said guys
I don't know if you have noticed, but most "DJs" do what Skrillex does. They make songs, then when it comes to playing them live, they press play and act like they're awesome, and barely do anything.
This really shouldn't be a surprise to anyone.
not only is skrillex's "dj set" totally bro'd out, his gimmick is to pretend that there is something wrong with the equipment EVERY TIME. the sound will cut out and he will act like he doesn't know what's happening.
aside from this, skrillex will undoubtedly play "father said" and he will break coachella (in the most awful way you can think of).
For those of you that hate Skrillex, you should probably skip 12th Planet.... He drops at least 3 Skrillex tracks in his set.
This ain't no middle of the mall shit.
hahahahahah this guy is terrible. I have never heard of him until now. I have to say that watching these videos was at least worth a laugh.
The White Stripes 9/18
AHAHAHAHAH, that Father Says video is completely embarrassing.
I bet if this thread was titled "skrillex is going to be awesome cant wait" people's opinions would be differnet lol. Oh forum, -i dont care for the guy BTW-
I am totally speechless. My good friend digs the shit outta this guy but after seeing that ^! I really don't know what to say or how to formulate a thought about what I just saw. I think my eyes, ears, & brain just got raped! Definately embarassing. DO NOT TRY TO SING ESPECIALLLY IF YOU CANNOT STAY IN KEY Skrillex!!!! & the strippers dancing LOL! They were looking at each other like "how are we supposed to dance to this?"
Actually Daedelus is billed higher on his day.
I agree with you though, between Skrillex, Excision, Breakage, Jakes, Caspa and 12th Planet there is some truly dreadful "dubstep" at Coachella this year.
Luckily it should be easy to avoid. I'm very much looking forward to Nosaj Thing, Daedelus, Mount Kimbie, Tokimonsta, Joy Orbison and High Contrast.
so i was debating on whether to see skrillex or crystal method next saturday...these vids have convinced me to stay the fuck away from skrillex

Oh, I know they aren't. I was just listing some of the other down-tempo or similar electronic acts that I'm looking forward to.
Shit, I remember when what people considered dubstep sounded absolutely NOTHING like what is considered dubstep now. It's crazy how much it has changed (almost entirely for the worst).
With this guy on the lineup, I never want to hear another complaint about the likes of Wolfmother or similar rock schmoes.
Nothing could be douchier than this. Really, nothing.

I don't think Jakes or Breakage deserve to be on the same list as Skrillex and Excision. A lot of Jakes stuff is rough but like he said in the Radio 1 vid his music has swagger.... his riddims have soul even when they are hard. As for Breakage, he's made nuff heavyweight contributions, a DnB vet before dubstep... I'd challenge you to show me more bad Breakage tunes than I can show you good ones. "Together" is a classic...
As for Caspa, his contribution to the sound can't be ignored (rubber chicken was pretty influential when it first came out, and Dub Police has put out some of the biggest tunes in the cannon) but he hasn't put out anything good since Victoria's Secret, and that tune is mostly D1...
Skrillex is just a watered down derivative, a cheap imitation. People, if you like this sound, go for the real thing. Study up on Coki.

It's almost gotten to the point where when people ask me what I play, I'm reluctant to say the word dubstep, because this kind of bullshit is what they think I'm talking about. And they wouldn't recognize a tune like Lean Forward or Anti-war Dub as even being dubstep anyway.
Some people think it's pretentious to use the term "bass music" but if Skrillex is dubstep then I like bass music.

When it first started it wasn't so ridiculous, the LFO sounded fresh and new...wobble is as wobble does. I mean this wobble
is night and day to this wobble
fuckin Spongebob... When it first came out, before the term brostep existed, Joe Nice was telling me how much he dislikes it, and what happened to Coki, and I hope this sound doesn't continue... little did he know.
