I hope they cut Neon Trees out and replace them with Kyuss or Sleep. I would sure love to see Sleep preforming Dopesmoker. They need some sort of indie metal band or something. Last year they had Baroness and it was great.

Kyuss would be sweet. I was hoping for some Deftones this year, oh well.
Do you hear me Denver? Or shall I turn it up for you?
Yeah, what's with that? Usually the lineup consists of lots of metal bands and brutal, hardcore stuff like that. Normally we have kind of an Ozzchella-lite thing going on but they screwed us this year!
Ya, Deftones, Motorhead, kyuss.... where the fuck is the metal for the late night Mojave!?
Upcoming Shows:
Pitchfork Festival: 7/19 @ Union Park
Mountain Oasis Festival: 10/25-27
Coachella: 4/11-13 @ Empire Polo Fields
^RIGHT!
and I dont want too much rock but just enough to be represented properly.

2014?
It's clear that they intentionally chose forgo hard rock/metal acts this year which leads me to believe we could see some really impressive heavy bands in Indio come Spring 2012.
I just read somewhere the Meshuggah will have a new LP out by Fall this year, they're about as cutting edge and relevant as it gets when it comes to metal so I don't know why they'd be overlooked if Goldenvoice do indeed plan on booking heavy acts next year.

There is your rock!
I was hoping for The Cult as a 3rd liner or something... Ian Astbury was basically begging for a spot at Coachella last year, and they've got a nice blend of guitar rock and alt-rock going on. I don't know anybody who doesn't like "She Sells Sanctuary", and they had a few radio/MTV hits as well.
Of course, Ian's fatter and runs out of breath even more than he used to... but Billy Duffy is still a great rock 'n roll guitarist. I don't think many people would be complaining about their inclusion, but what do I know? I'm the guy who thought Faith No More should get more than an hour last year... and they got less.
*Edit* Or Primus. They're rock and alt, and everybody loves a live Primus show.
Or A Perfect Circle, but they've probably too expensive.

this year's lineup fucking blows if you are a rock/folk/blues/metal fan. or a fan of good music in general. all the big names would have been cool 5-10 years ago.

Jesus christ dude, get a fucking life.
i could say the same for you dude. if you were in my position and had your mind blown last year, then you'd be pretty damn dissapointed if one of your favorite things in the year turned to shit.
