Kanye is going to have a helluva tough act to follow. These guys were loud and crisp at Lolla. They definitely left me wanting more.

Yeah, with a new album on the way I'm surprised The Strokes weren't billed as the lone headliner. They are more than deserving of the spot.

Hopefully someone awesome is playing during Kanye. The idea of following The Strokes up with Kanye just feels so... wrong.

Julian's album was called Phrazes for the Young, just in case you weren't aware.

I'm not a huge fan of his voice. His albums are like strokes stuff without Julian singing and 3 guitarists. Not many bands can pull that off (pearl jam, sometimes)

either way it was something to hold us over.

Little Joy was such a surprise. that has become one of my go-to albums.

This. I made the trip down to Austin to see their pre-ACL show at Stubbs and then caught their headlining set at ACL. Both sets were under an hour. Now, they sounded great while they were playing, but fuck, at least play your full timeslot.

It's good man. My fav song from them so far is No Ones Better Sake.

Video is directed by Warren Fu, so you know your in for a treat.

PS yes that's Devendra Banhart on the moraccas, or whatever that instrument is, and Nick Valensi on the drums.
