They'll have their new album "Angles" out by then
I'm personally stoked
Gonna see them in Vegas to
What's your reaction to them headlining?
Do you think Angles will rebirth rock and roll like Is This It?

I heard it's coming out March 22. Plenty of time to party the hell out of it before Coachella. I read somewhere that Nikolai said sonically it's the album they should have made between Room on Fire and First Impressions of Earth.
Not sure what that means exactly, but I don't think the Strokes are anything like the Kings of Leon. They never let fame get to their heads and this new album is going to deliver. You could make an argument that each of their albums improves upon its predecessor. Big shoes to fill, but we shall see.
i kno alot of people here have seen them too many times and blah blah blah but having always missed my chances to see them, i am very ready for this!

I love all 3 albums and feel like Room On Fire got shit upon on its release. But looking back 8 years later, it's pretty fuckin legit and holds up really well. Same with First Impressions of Earth. They still have yet to make a bad song.
C'mon guys how cool is this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UnARpop__ao

Yeah, I have friends who say "oh man Is This It was such a good album, then they put out Room on Fire and it sounds nothing like them!" wtf, it's definitely not a rehashing of the first album but there is some strong sound simliarity. And it's a great album to boot.

My friend who claims the Strokes are his favorite band ever also claims that Room On Fire is their best album. I think if someone told me any of the 3 were their best I'd agree with them in some ways.
I'm happy they never pulled a KOL and started making ballads. I saw KOL open for the Strokes during the Room on Fire tour and would have never guessed they'd be played on KISS FM and adored by 16 year old girls, or that someday they'd be headlining Coachella while The Strokes were a sub-headliner.
Ooooh-Weeee What up wit dat?

Damn three... that is tough. I am just going to go with my favorite from each album. No particular order.
New York City Cops (this song got me hooked)
Meet Me in the Bathroom
Fear of Sleep
("I know you hate to be impressed with someone else other than yourself.
But you know, trying to hold back on being an asshole helps".) favorite lyric from any album.

I love the Strokes b side song "Hawaii Aloha".
1. Hard to Explain
2. Automatic Stop
3. The Modern Age
I wasn't a fan of their last album outside You Only Live Once. But I have a good feeling about the new one. They seem to be the right frame of mind this time around.
