Thanks Brandon... I was waiting for a thread like this, I will probably skipping out on this lineup as well unless some of my plans change this year and I can somehow squeeze it in.
Lots of other things to spend my monies on this year (despite there being several acts I'd like to see), as of now I'm not inspired enough to take the trip.
There's a good chance I'll end up in this thread.
Hannah's not going? I'm out!
Party on Hannahrain's Broken Couch 2011!
Yeah, not going. I planned on making last year my last, and the lineup, while decent, hasn't changed my mind. Sasquatch is closer, cheaper, and less physically demanding.
if it's any consolation, the webcast was pretty decent last year. I'll be watching it again apparently.
In all likelihood, I'll be getting embarrassingly drunk again.
I'm unsure :/
The webcast was awesome last year. The band selection was good and the picture quality was great with no lagging at all. Even though the lineup last year was spectacular, I can't say I'm too sad about missing Clusterfuckchella. I'm really counting on Paul T keeping his promise about lowering attendance this year. I have faith though as several people said he was visibly upset on Sunday of last year.
If I were still in FL, I dunno if id make the trek. thankfully im not.

I won't be there. Boo.

I know LA to Palm Springs isn't a hop, skip and a jump away, but it's not a huge commitment either...
I just say this because I'm just starting to get to know a lot of you guys (and probably this means annoying the fuck out of most of you), and it's a bummer a lot of you won't make it.
Remember when 08 was announced and Prince wasn't on it yet? I was equally underwhelmed (but bought tix and had a blast anyway). But this one has better 2nd/3rd tier acts, and based on the 06/08 precedent, I think we still got a big name to be added.
But then again, maybe this is Paul T/GV/AEG's way of saying "you guys want it back down to 60k, this is what you get for 60k". I think this lineup will sell 60k worth of tix, because the fest on it's own is popular enough now.
Regardless, I hope at least some of you re-consider, and if not, maybe I'll see ya at Lolla (or Sasquatch or the 'Roo if the lineup is killer).

Jamiroquai 2014 please.
Did you not see the article someone posted a few months ago? He "announced" it through a direct quote in the article and apparently it was from a completely legit source. Several people (I remember TomAZ and captncrzy for sure) said they'll give it another shot because of this.
They never, ever said they'd lower attendance. They said that "too many people" was a problem, and then specifically identified the gatecrashing as the issue to be addressed.
I don't think they'll have difficulty getting to 75K this year given that they probably could have sold 85-90K last year. With luck, the "expanded venue" won't just apply to camping/VIP/parking etc.
The lineup is deep, and solid overall... But it definitely lacks a wow factor. If Coachella required significant travel expenses, I'd find it hard to justify this time. I mean, the last several hours I spent in Indio consisted of Spoon->Phoenix->Pavement->Thom Yorke->Gorillaz while Orbital and Plastikman went on nearby...
