Crowd has definitely changed over the last decade, unfortunately for the worst, more people who shove through crowds. There also seem to be a lot of younger people on the Polo Grounds also. Too many spoiled children who's parents don't know how to shut them up when Jay Z is in town.

"OK, here's a ticket, a condo and $500 for whatever, now let your mother enjoy her xanax."

The Bro Factor has also increased substantially, most likely an extension and far more dangerous version of the spoiled suburb child.

I remember being able to have a conversation with someone on the Polo fields, now its untrusting glances that believe I'm out to get them.

And yeah, unless the lineup is absolutely ridiculous, I won't be there. There are so many better options in my new continental backyard than to travel across half the planet to deal with headache Coachella has become for me. I have a friend tha's trying to visit in June and I almost want to tell them no so I can better swing both Primavera and Sonar, not to mention I plan on doing Bestival this year, too.

This is probably my last year, at the very least I am taking 2014 off. But it's just because I'd like to try some new things, I really only get one vacation a year nowadays, and it's been the same the last 4 years. I don't mind the crowds...which honestly haven't been that bad the last 2 years. Oddly, 2010 was my favorite year ever, but that was for personal reasons, I had a good time despite the horrible crowds. I'm not camping this year, which is going to break some of my connection to the experience.

I'm grateful I got to spend time with most of you who won't be there, or haven't been for a while. I'm going to try for Sasquatch, Bumbershoot and/or OSL in 2014, finances permitting, so I hope to see some of you again.

Come to Fun Fun Fun or try out FYF and have fun in L.A.!

I am more than likely not going to Coachella this year, unless the line up totally makes me jizz

As much as I love the lineup, I won't be going for the second straight year. Grad school is kicking my ass. =(

That was a great camping group. That's probably the worst lineup I've seen but that year was one of the most fun anyway.

Last year was easier to miss. This year is going to be a tough one. I'm on the fence about going, it'll boil down to money and vacation days.

What John said. Except not Costa Rica.
I see in the near future a crisis approaching that unnerves me and causes me to tremble for the safety of my country. . . . corporations have been enthroned and an era of corruption in high places will follow, and the money power of the country will endeavor to prolong its reign by working upon the prejudices of the people until all wealth is aggregated in a few hands and the Republic is destroyed.

I thought I wasn't going until I saw the lineup. Now I'm on the fence. It'll come down to a close look at the budget and trying to decide if I can afford it.

Abe and John come to Solid Sound Fest. I think tickets are fairly cheap, and driving distance. You know, if you're not planning for honeymoons or anything.

They also offer buses from NYC. It's a possibility if they have a good lineup!

Camping was a big part, plus it was a vacation from my home life (my ex-wife was originally supposed to come with, I think I sold her ticket to Audra.) But I liked the lineup that year. It was just the crowds and security that were terrible.

I really wish they sold single day tickets again.

I will not be going this year. (I've said this the last two years but cracked under pressure and purchased tickets last minute, so...)

Last year weekend 2 tickets dropped to under $125 by Saturday, tons were available on craigslist etc - that may be a possibility for myself and the future Mrs. Santa.

I'm wondering if Coachella will continue to be two weekends after this year though...

I'd like to go but I can't afford a single fucking thing in my life right now. Who knows what'll happen in the next few months, but I highly doubt things are going to change that much for me.

Almost positive the bro factor will have decreased this year.

^ yeah but the presale was last june, before anyone knew the lineup and sold most of the tix out.. All of the "bros" and "e-tards" and REALLY annoying people probably bought presale tix already thinking they'd get Guetta or something.. who knows, I have a feeling the crowds won't be any better this year.

Seriously big hit on taxes this year. If Coachella wasn't already paid for, I may very well be SOL. As is, I'm barely gonna make it. Phew.

It really fucking sucks when you just get into a higher tax bracket and end up paying more in taxes so that your take home pay is actually less than what you would have made had you been in the next bracket down.

Wife is a realtor, so self employed. The trick we learned to use is to hold all checks, if you can afford to, that come in late in the year(mid november/december) and deposit them in the new year so they are not calculated into that tax year. Can help keep you in a lower tax bracket if you are right on the verge.

Yes, we've gotten royally fucked with the tax bracket thing. We barely qualify for the one we're in and since we transitioned we've had to pay sooooo much. We'll be on an IRS payment plan forever at this rate. I hate money.
