I know those kinds of acts are part of the package, I'm cool with it, but I feel like there are more of those kinds of acts this year than ever before at the expense of more interesting and newer (for the fest anyway) acts, and a lot of the more populist acts that are there are either unnecessary repeats or on the more derivative and boring side of the scale. I'm cool with light, inoffensive sounds, I love Grizzly Bear, for example, but I just look at the poster this year and go "That's the best you can do?" Even Squeeze is kind of 3rd tier when it comes to nostalgia acts compared to like Devo or Echo & The Bunnymen.

At a certain point, don't you run out of these types of bands/artists? Not to mention those that have been asked and turned offers down.

In the future, the line-up will have 90% bands that we have never heard about (except for Jared, who would have heard of about a third of the line-up). We will research the line-up, but only succeed in finding material by a bit less than half.

I like to ascribe to this theory because I'm sort of an optimist. It was the first year for the 2 weekend thing. They've proved that it will sell out no matter what in years to come. Hopefully they'll fire the asshat who did the Sahara bookings this year and curate a stronger EDM lineup in 2013, along with more 'risky' or 'imaginative' bands. LET ME DREAM.
