Yeah there's no perfect shitstorm of awful yet currently very popular acts that brought all the annoying tweens last year like Tiesto, Passion Pit, Deadmau5, Vampire Weekend, MGMT, David Guetta, etc.

Is there some discernible pattern of "90s grunge reunited supergroup(s)"?

wow, what a bummer of a thread. i am on the fence...i'm sure ill discover a lot of great lower tier bands that i never knew about, just like every other year, but the top lines are just not doing it for me. i am pumped on a few acts, but there are just way too many shit bands on the 2nd and 3rd lines.

and with a new mortgage, and wedding to pay for this year, not sure i can justify the $1k i usually end up spending on the weekend. we'll see though, im not out just yet...
Let's go on a livin' spree!

I don't know what this is supposed to even mean. Clones of myself? Err, what? Good job working off an exaggerated stereotype you and other board trolls created however many years ago that is in no way true.

Sigh. I should stop feeding the trolls.

Not really. I just need more bands a la Pavement and MBV to get stoked on this.

2008 was a truly awesome year. I'll remember it forever.

Sad a ton of my fav boardies will not be going this year. Why not just come to Palm Spring and get wasted all weekend instead?

QUIT MAKING FUN OF KITT KAT FOR BEING A "HIPSTER"! She does NOT fit the mold, people. GET OVER IT.

Unrelated - Kitt Kat, how is the record label you started that only makes cassette tapes? Or your radio show?

I didn't know having a record label was a precursor for being a hipster. Someone alert Eminem before it's too late! (Label's great! Thanks for asking sarcastically and not giving a shit!) I don't have a radio show anymore because I graduated from college and it was a college radio station.

You're wrong champ. He said in an article the crowds were a problem. Then Goldenvoice went on with their business and never managed to, I don't know, actually address the problem. If they can't be bothered to give their fans an actual response they can continue booking acts like this all day. I won't be around to complain.

I will probably do this. I am on the fence. I really only have a few acts I want to see but the group I go with are not happy with the line up, so that is making things difficult. I don't want to see I am not going but it sure as hell is looking like that for now.

Plus, I have to go to a Euro fest someday. This year would be perfect.

I can only imagine the types of crowds Kanye and Kings of Leon will bring. It will be the same shit as last year.

Nevermind, you're right. I never saw the What Will Capacity Be? thread until now.

    From that thread:

If this evidence in the city application is legit (I don't know what the source of that was) then I guess he already lied.

He didn't lie. At worst, he misled, and that's only if the "expanded venue" does nothing to ease the crowding.

Assuming the evidence from a city application discussed in that thread is real then at best he misled. He may not have directly said "we are selling 15k less tickets" but he did say this: "It's been a hundred days now since the show, and we've been writing notes down [about] how to make this show better," he says. "Almost across the board, each one of us came up with the same note: less people.
"The No. 1 thing was just too many bodies," Tollett adds. "That came from a few things. Number one, we sold more tickets than we have in the past."
