This thread is basically to help educate the board on bands they might be unfamiliar with. Adding a description and some youtubes would be helpful. I'll keep an updated list of bands that already have been discussed.

The Tallest Man on Earth
The Tallest Man on Earth AKA Kristian Matsson is a folk/blues singer from Dalarna, Sweden. Mattsson’s main focus is the acoustic guitar, but also plays the banjo and piano. His style of guitar playing alternates between energetic picking and forceful strumming. His lyrics paint a beautiful picture of the countryside, often singing about rivers and the forest. Mattson is more concerned with evoking emotion than with making clear sense. Mattson’s voice is demanding and urgent, as if he's trying to convince you of something he can’t put into words.
In 2010, I saw the Tallest Man on Earth at Sasquatch and at a small club in Tucson. Both performances were fantastic. I recommend starting with The Wild Hunt.
