Then who gives a shit about hearing a new track in a live setting?

Seriously. If this is a one off the only things I want to hear is the great material they released in the past. If the band isn't continuing on, why bother getting a new material tease?

PIL had one of the smallest crowds of the weekend because of the conflict with Fever Ray and Jay-Z. I think it would be a shame if DFA had that small of a crowd and frankly it would be a waste of money. I also think it happened because Lydon probably demanded to close a stage and Fever Ray needed to close a stage because of their set up and the fact it would not work in the day time.

DFA on the the Outdoor will conflict with Duran Duran. The Strokes will conflict with Bloody Beetroots in the Sahara. Kanye will play against Leftfield in the Sahara and possibly Lightning Bolt in the Mojave.

I'd be ok with missing Duran Duran (don't get it), Beetroots (seen before), and Leftfield (hurts my heart but it's not Underworld or Prodigy)

who say's theirs a later. i wont argue with you about them not having enough material for a solid set because i know they do. i'd just really like to see what these guys were up to in the studio before they called it quits.

At the end of the set they will fight and JFK will boomerang his mustache for a beheading win. The truth.

PiL had a small crowd because of Fever Ray and Jay Z? How do you know this?

How many Hova/Karin Andersson fans are PiL fans?

DFA will be packed. I respect your love for Kanye, but you're insane if you think the DFA crowd will be small because Kanye is playing on a different stage.

Does anyone recommend I see mstrkrft next week? I'm typically not into club music.

Jay-Z has a large fan base that intersects with other fan bases.

If you stick DFA in the mojave how much is the capacity for that tent? 8,000? so you spent probably 6 figures on an act that only 8,000 people are going to see?

    Like Fever Ray?

Devo was probably also very low 6 figures

Personally, I'd prefer DFA somewhere in the 4-8pm range since they don't depend on a light show and there's I'll have lots of other headliner conflicts that day. Maybe even a slot like the Specials.

Outdoor? You dont think their sound is better for a tent? But having them earlier would mean less conflicts.

Sunset at the Outdoor? Really? Dude, you need to listen to more DFA if you think they are a sappy acoustic act with overly weepy fans...

They should close the Mohave, like Devo last year.

Really? I wouldn't think that either would be paid that much. I just know that reunions typically get paid 6 figures based on prior interviews with the bands. Even sometimes in the mid to high 6 figures.

5:30 is not at sunset. Plenty of high energy bands have played that time slot on the outdoor in the past.

I just don't think they need to close a tent, they don't need a light show.

Reunions should be on Outdoor or Main to attract the most people
