Still... it shouldn't have been surprising.

Gribbz, this discussion is sooo 2010. Let's put it to rest and find another two acts for you and I to debate about.

That's what summerkid and I are doing. Death From Above 1979 vs. Kanye West. More than welcome to join in.

What kills me is that I'd probably choose Kanye. Hopefully DFA will add some more dates on.

I'd choose DFA over the douchebag, hundreds of times if necessary. Kanye can go fall into an alligator pit filled with 200 3 year olds on pcp who just discovered that knives cut for all I care.

    THIS.

Having seen both I enjoyed the DFA show I saw much more. Granted the last time I saw Kanye was the Bonnaroo fiasco, what a fucking dick. Sigh, I still like his music though.

I saw a stadium show he did in Miami on his glow in the dark tour, which was a decent show but something about it was just lame. It was like a corny rock opera at times, and he didn't reach out to the crowd in the same way that most hip-hop artists do. Bonnaroo was just the ultimate example of that.

I wouldn't be surprised if Death From Above and Kanye conflicted. Summerkid thinks this would be "stupid."

I don't think they'll conflict. However, it wouldn't surprise me that much if they did. I don't really care too much about this issue because I don't give a damn about Kanye.

But, if I had to bet money on it, I'd go with them not conflicting.

I'm thinking Duran Duran -> Kanye on the main and DFA closing outdoor makes sense. I'd be ok with that

DFA should be in the Mojave, I just feel like it would be louder that way. Way louder.

What about The Strokes? Conflicting with Duran Duran? I would think Duran Duran on outdoor while The Strokes on mainstage.

Almost every reunion that comes to the Polo Fields is supposed to be a "one off", and then they wind up touring.

Within the DFA context, I would be surprised if they leave Indio without getting in a fist fight. Definitely a one off.

I'm still in awe over this. The last thing I remember reading about these two, they were just having a filthy name calling match at each other, finished the last of their touring in 2005-2006 and called it quits. I am so glad they decided to get back together, even if it is just for one show? Their is definitely no such thing as a conflict when these guys are playing together, they win, hands down over any act playing at the same time.

I fucking love DFA, but there better not be a conflict with Kanye...id much rather see Kanye on the polo fields than at the staples center, where i might not even get a chance to buy tickets since they'll probably sell out almost instantly.

He's gonna whore himself out to every festival this year. Just like Jay-Z in 2010. So if you wanna see him in a festival setting, I'm sure this won't be your only chance.

    No thanks.

Stick to what they have. They have plenty enough for one absurdly solid set. The new stuff can come later.
