For a wee country of only 5 million or so, Scotland is pretty well represented at Coachella with 3 bands on the lineup. In honor of this, how about a couple of polls about your favorite Scottish bands. You can vote for multiple bands.

A teenage dream, so hard to beat...
Mogwai...I'm done
Camera Obscura
Yup, Camera Obscura just lost out to the "10 choices per poll" rule.
I'm enjoying "Let's Get Out Of This Country" quite a bit at the mo...
A teenage dream, so hard to beat...
BoC, Mogwai and Camera Obscura would be my top three.....where are The Frames from? Ireland, anyways I have been diggin them lately.
Biffy clyro....AMAZING!
I carried a watermelon??
10 Scottish groups I like to some extent:
Mogwai
Orange Juice
Incredible String Band
Boards of Canada
Teenage Fanclub
Jesus and Mary Chain
Cocteau Twins
Arab Strap
Josef K
Primal Scream
Why did I think The Fratellis were Italian?
Whiskey Sour
2 oz blended whiskey
Juice of 1/2 lemon
1/2 tsp powdered sugar
1 cherry
1/2 slice lemon
Shake blended whiskey, juice of lemon, and powdered sugar with ice and strain into a whiskey sour glass. Decorate with the half-slice of lemon, top with the cherry, and serve.
Mogwai would have gotten my vote if they were listed, although it appears as though there will be another poll, presumably with bands starting with letters at the end of the alphabet.
Hunting has been part of our society since the first Europeans came over and shot buffalo and Native Americans and whatnot.

A few others us scots could claim,Placebo-Brian Molko born in Dundee(so i heard)AC/DC-The young bros born in scotland(supposedly),Pulp-keyboard player from Shetland
If that's the rationale, fuck yeah, we're having Talking Heads then!!!
A teenage dream, so hard to beat...
.....and Eurythmics, Snow Patrol, Garbage, Men At Work, Jethro Tull, Stealers Wheel, The (Small) Faces, Wings, The Shamen, Alan Parsons Project, The KLF, MxPx and Thin Lizzy!!
...and shitloads more that I can't be bothered to try and think of right now!
A teenage dream, so hard to beat...
U2.
E
Oh, dear.... you'll have to brush up on your geography darlin, Thin Lizzy are NOT SCOTTISH, Phil Lynott was a Paddy born and bred in Dublin. Plus, Snow Patrol have slightly hybrid heritage (more paddies),
as for the idiot who thinks that U2 are Scottish..... I weep for mankind.
You'll have to brush up on your reading, darling.![]()
Someone posted that we can claim Placebo, AC/DC etc. because of their Scottish members.
By that rationale, Talking Heads (Byrne born in Dumbarton), The KLF (Bill Drummond) and The Faces (Rod Stewart) all count by having Scots members.
Thin Lizzy had Scotsman Brian Robertson, Snow Patrol has Tom Simpson and Colin Hay, lead singer from Men At Work was born in Ayrshire.
I knows my stuff, ya know...
A teenage dream, so hard to beat...
