Lanters are good but you need somewhere to hang them. Solar lights are ok but people will step on them/aren't that bright, flash lights work but only light up for personal use.

What I've done the past three years is to use some string to tie my lantern to the "peak" on the inside of my EZ-Up, and that has seemed to work pretty well.

I wonder if Harbor Freight has that canopy at their store for the same price.

I used my refillable bank credit card to use the site (I go onto my bank's site, transfer money for the amount needed only). I use this for a LOT of my transactions to prevent fraud. Hopefully I won't have a problem.
Though I did accidentally put two in my cart and not realize until AFTER I clicked the purchase button (totally was my fault).

As soon as I get it, I'll test it out. I'll let you know how it works. And I probably won't need the second one, but it depends on how well it works. If I don't need it, it's yours.

Great thread so I thought I'd try and contribute! Tons of stuff on Ebay...

These 9x9 canopies have been going pretty cheap in auctions on eBay or you can Buy It Now for $44 with free shipping:
    http://recommendations.ebay.com/Ozar...rksid=p4340.m0

Also picked up some of these LED battery powered string lights for the canopy for $3.39 including shipping, they work great!:
    http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from...+string+lights

Finally got one of these but haven't tested it yet, $6.50 for a solar powered paper lantern:

So I'm in the shower with it right now. It's bigger than I thought it would be and it's a little difficult to type. It's s good concept, but I don't foresee myself using it during the festival.

If you're packed to the brim and trying to stay tight on the budget when you're driving out, consider holding off on a 50-$200 "Ez up" and buying a $20 canopy at food for less in indio. I did this last year, left the canopy there for whoever. It wasn't too hard to put together and it being $20, you don't really give a shit if it gets all fucked up over the weekend.

The LED string lights are great for ambient light. You'll need a strong lantern for reading and stuff like that.

Damn, missed out on this when you posted it, now it looks like it's sold out. I am in need of more of these, nearly all the ones I brought last year were destroyed by either dumb friends of the people I was camping with or the flight back home.
