i hate to throw myself into the scrum here so late, but i just want to point out that if you're going to call something "overrated", it's a pretty contextual thing. with bands, greatness can really only be measured in how much people like the music. in the case of radiohead, they're adored by critics AND have millions and millions of fans. that's essentially the opposite of being overrated.

saying you just don't like them is fine, but don't call them "one of the most overrated... bands of our time" and then get super uppity about it when a bunch of people of said generation come to their fervent defense.

also, maybe opening your remark with "Fuck Radiohead" wasn't such a civil way to go about it...

I do not care what you think of me. that said... I dunno if you actually understood what I was saying... I have not learnt these songs. they were not my first songs, nor will i ever learn them. however, in my experience I have seen/heard a lot of newbies play the guitar...and those are usually the songs I hear them play. If that disturbs you in some manner, so be it. I'm not interested in what you think I should or should not do... you think you have some kind of power around here just because you post alot? this place is for people to inform & discuss... just because what i say isn't your cup of tea doesn't mean I'm wrong or stupid. all it means is that we have very different opinions.

Correct! Come as you are was indeed my first. I think people stopped playing smoke on the water as their "first" twenty years ago at least...
