Why would you think it wasn't done on purpose. How else are they going to get the word out that people should listen to KROQ? Isn't that what they want? As many people to listen as possible? It's just some clever viral marketing.

I doubt KROQ will get the exclusive lineup annoucement but they will have something at 5.

Also, if they wanted their listeners to know the time, why use this guy with 400 followers when their own Twitter has 29K and their DJs that have 4 figures in terms of number of followers?

Radio Stations always get word on when the line up is being released for festivals, for their radio programming etc, and they DO announce the line up, but not exclusively, and are allowed to announce after coachella has officially announced it on the website or the likes.

So that's probably the deal.

It's obviously not going to get announced on KROQ before this site announces it. So the real question is, when will it be posted here?

I'm hoping the Desert Sun or LA Times gets a leak prior to Tuesday. The website will be updated before any third party announcement.

If this is true, we can thank the Twitter guy for moving the announcement one day closer. None of the regular DJs will be there Monday because of MLK as far as I know. Thanks to this post I quoted, I'm now listening to Sublime on KROQ to see if this is repeated.
