The match of the century: absence versus thin air.
Tame Impala I think will have one of the best performances.. they're such an underlooked band that's finally seeing some deserved attention. I was supposed to catch their SF Fillmore show but tickets sold out way too far in advance. Stoked I'll be able to finally see them and hear their new album live.
...
I saw Tame Impala at their last Coachella appearance and also at Outside Lands this past summer, and while I love their ability to replicate their songs live there is nothing mindblowing about their performances. I will surely be there to see them (barring any conflicts) but don't expect them to take their music to a new level. They just play their perfected songs with their perfectly rehearsed effects recreating their albums live. Just my 2 cents.
DRUGS ON KIDS
I have seen them twice already and can't wait to hear them perform songs from Lonerism.
5/12 - Acid Mothers Temple - Casbah
5/13 OoOoOo - Soda Bar
5/19 Black Angels / Hanni El Khatib - Belly Up
5/29 Junip - Troubadour
5/30 John Talabot - Echoplex
6/2 Bjork - Hollywood Palladium
For what it's worth the 2011 Coachella performance was fucking awesome. OSL was not as exciting, but I think playing at 12:30 on the main stage had a lot to do with it.
Coachella 2013:
Blur • YYYs • Modest Mouse • Lou Reed • Jurassic 5 • How to Destroy Angels • Beach House • Metric • Local Natives • Of Monsters & Men • Divine Fits • FOALS • Youth Lagoon
Phoenix • xx • Postal Service • Hot Chip • Grizzly Bear • Franz Ferdinand • Two Door Cinema Club • Yeasayer • Violent Femmes • SMD • Portugal the Man • 2 Bears
Vampire Weekend • Nick Cave • Wu-Tang Clan • Pretty Lights • Eric Prydz • Tame Impala • Lumineers • Tanlines • Thee Oh Sees • Robert DeLong
I concur that they were awesome at Coachella 2011
Listening to this band for the first time (via Lonerism). This is awesome, not a bad song. They really are like a really tripped-out late-era Beatles. Gonna listen to their other album next.
They were great in 3 years ago...We really enjoyed their set..The sound was nearly perfect. I will admit they seemed a bit subdued on stage but maybe this is normal for them? Not sure- But looking forward to seeing them again this year for sure!

I have a high interest in seeing these guys, I hope they play 'Why Won't They Talk to Me????" ...so hopefully they will play like early PM on Sunday so we can head home early before RHCP. Looking forward to the HOB SD show in May as well.
My god please!!!!!
Please check out my blog Sleeping is Giving In for some great mixes and other good things!
I'd rather hear them play their own amazing songs.

Fingers crossed for a guitar oriented set rather than the faux Sgt Peppers stuff.
I'll take both please!

Innerspeaker was overrated. I was looking forward to listening to it after hearing the reviews but what a letdown. I have lonerism on my computer but have not felt the need to listen to it yet.
Haha you guys don't have a freaking clue when it comes to Tame Impala.
Just be ready to be blown away.
I hope they're the type of band who incite crowd surfing. I would just love to surf on my fellow Coachelean's heads.

And I know that I can't let them bring me down
And I gotta bide my time as a face in the crowd
