Sorry to break it to you, but they broke up in November. They played their farewell show on Nov. 28th in Seattle.

Yeah, they were pretty good too. I saw them put on some good sets at Sasquatch and at the Capital Hill Block Party. A friend of mine used to tour with them every so often too. I'd wager that they get back together.

I saw them here a year back while waiting for Roky Erickson. I've never ever heard a band whine so much about their monitor levels. They sounded woeful anyway.

Tonight, I saw my friend who toured with the Dutchess and the Duke and he said they broke up cause the Dutchess got tired of touring. My friend also said that they had been invited by Belle and Sebastian to play Bowlie and were supposed to do a European tour in conjunction with that show, but broke up anyway. He did say that the Duke has started another band with Alex Yusimov called Case Studies. They've just started recording an album for Sacred Bones Records from Brooklyn in a studio in Portland called the Pool.

It's always fun catching up with my friend. He's friends with or has played with a lot of people in the music business. For instance, he's friends with Karen O and was on the Where the Wild Things Are soundtrack. And tonight, he was telling us that the Dodos have asked him to play with them on their upcoming world tour, but he doesn't know if he can go since his "real" job needs him. I know, cool story bro
