I thought Lost was one of the few bright spots on the album. At the time I really didn't like the S/T, but listening to it beside the shit sandwich that was mostly 4:13 Dream puts it in a totally different context. It could have been so much worse.

Wish is in the top 10 albums of all time easily. Porl is a genius.
Replace the weak middle section with the b-sides and it's arguably their best album.
Porl actually designed the album art after this track, but for some reason it was inexplicably left off the album.
Far fucking superior to Wendy Time or Trust.
I've never liked Wish that much but I forget how many great songs are on that album... once again, there is not really a "bad" Cure album.
Any Cure concert in the last 30 years stand out in your memory?
You can probably listen to it here. Jesus Christ, amazing.

I went to see the Wish tour in 92 at the Richfield Collesium in Cleveland. Thanks dad for taking me at the ripe ol age of 15.
R.I.P. Richfield Collesium. Too bad you got demolished.
I was so pissed they didn't play "Cut".
I bought the all over print tee from this tour (half tye dye half silk screen). Think my mom threw it away. I haven't seen one of those shirts since.
I have to say I haven't given the Cure much thought after the release of Disintegration. Shame on me. This doesn't mean I stopped listening to them.
Just means I did not keep up with new releases.
Here are my favorite songs from the CD's I do own.
Fire in Cairo - Three Imaginary Boys
Jumping Someone Else's Train - Boys Don't Cry
Play for Today - Seventeen Seconds
Faith - Faith
A Short Term Effect - Pornography
The Walk - Japanese Whispers
Piggy in the Mirror - The Top
In Between Days - The Head on the Door
The Snakepit - Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me
Lullaby - Disintegration
Wild Mood Swings really is great, but in a completely different direction. Though it took me a few listens to warm up to it, it's one of my favorites now. You should give it a try.![]()
4:13 Dream isn't bad at all, but I just don't listen to it.
I listened to Wild Mood Swings a LOT a year or so after it came out. It's a manic blip in their bipolar discography. The first 2/3 of the album is quite good... the last bit of the album is kinda eh though.
No Bonnaroo or Lolla????
Let me into your world, Robert! What are you planning???

Lol was the one who pitched the idea of a Faith 30th Anniversary performance/tour last year. Robert's never made a mention of the likelihood of that happening. Even if it were to happen, would Lol be drumming (kicking Jason off?) or playing keyboards, and then why would Roger even need to be a component of this configuration? It all sounds like fan-wanking fantasy to me.
I think it's pretty evident that the band are performing in Sydney from around May 30-June 1, but the specific details are currently nothing more than mere speculation and vague "clues" courtesy of COF.

This year's Vivid Live festival takes place from May 27 to June 6 at Sydney, Australia's famed Sydney Opera House. The fest is curated by Stephen Pavlovic, head of the Modular label, and he's snagged a fairly big get to headline the whole shebang: goth-rock greats the Cure, who will perform their first three albums in their entirety for the first-- and, they say, only-- time.
The Cure's "Reflections" event will take place May 31 and June 1, and it'll feature the band playing their 1979 debut, Three Imaginary Boys, 1980's Seventeen Seconds, and 1981's Faith. The lineup will be made up of both present and past members of the Cure, and the whole thing will be recorded for a DVD. Pretty cool.
The rest of Vivid Live's lineup is pretty stacked, too, featuring a rare DJ set from the Avalanches, Spiritualized performing Ladies and Gentlemen We Are Floating in Space, Cut Copy, Bat for Lashes, OFWGKTA, Tame Impala, Architecture in Helsinki, 2ManyDJ's, Dom, Azari & III, WU LYF, and more. Get more info here, and listen to Faith's opening track, "The Holy Hour", below.
