I just noticed Wire on Monklish's list. Why is there no thread for this? (That I could find)
I know Pink Flag and Chairs Missing are the classics, but I'm quite fond of their 80's output on Enigma Records...
Gotta love the WTF factor on this clip...

Try harder.

I kid, I kid.
That search engine can be pretty worthless at times.
I support this thread.
Wire is amazing.
Anyone who wants them to play has good taste in music.
The End.
Fuck.
So it was Patton?
Heck, the appearance of WIRE would be worth the price of admission alone! I support this!
"All you kids wanna do is eat pills and dance around with your Aidz NeedleZ."
These rumors please me. Oddly enough I'm only familiar with their first two albums (which are fucking awesome). I just never listened to anything else, they have a far too daunting discography.
Recommendations for albums after the first two?
I am neither foxy, nor a lady.
Neil Young - Kanye West - Beck - PJ Harvey - The Knife - Basement Jaxx - Tom Waits - Shpongle (Live) - Flying Lotus (Live) - The Avalanches - Autechre - Eels - Fat Freddy's Drop - Liquid Liquid - OFWGKTA - Freddie Gibbs - Big K.R.I.T. - Phantogram - Christian Scott - Nosaj Thing - Gold Panda - James Blake
For 2011
All Wire records are pretty damn good! I agree with Sparks that the later Wire on Enigma/mute is rad! I recommend "The Ideal Copy"

Yessssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss ssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss ssssssss. I finally get to see Wire.
Don't expect to hear anything from 154 or Pink Flag or anything people actually remember these guys for. Wire are infamous for ignoring the albums anyone gives a shit over and concentrating entirely on their new stuff, which isn't bad but isn't terribly interesting either. They actually used to get cover bands to open for them, so the cover groups could play those old tracks and Wire could focus on whatever they were touring behind.
It's cool to see one of their shows in the nostalgic music dork way, but I got bored pretty quickly.
Im pretty sure Wire will play, and this makes me happy
